I think that most folks know he's from Akron, it's just easier to say he's from Cleveland. Similar to someone saying they're from LA, when they're really from one of the smaller cities near LA. Keeps folks from having to answer the Where's that?" question.

It's just as easy to say he's from Akron, which is the correct thing to say. To say he's a Clevelander is wrong. He didn't grow up there and he didn't go to high school in that city.

I live about 2 hours from LA. If someone from another state asks where I'm from, I just usually say "LA" or "a couple of hours outside LA". No one gives crap about what city I'm from...they just care about LA. lol

Disagree. He’s a 15 minute a game guy now at $30 million.

Might be 15 minutes with Markk, Allen and Mobley around. Likely some teams he'd play 25-30 minutes.

And you'd get more 3's out of him in one game than you've gotten from Simmons in his entire career.

Also, I'm not convinced that he's completely washed. He hasn't played as much over the past couple of seasons because the Cavs have been tanking and Love might have helped them win 2 or 3 extra games.

Don't get me wrong, he's not giving you 35-40 minutes a game anymore...but I'd bet he could give you 20-25 most nights...30 in an emergency.

He's not going to be worth $30 million, but neither is Simmons.

Seems like we've seen a few guys over the past 2-3 seasons or so that we all thought were washed, go to playoff caliber teams and suddenly remember how to play again.

I have no doubt the tanking kept him off the court more than it would have if we needed him to win games.

and, sure, for the right team agree he could play 25-30 minutes.

The point he is making is bigtime FA’s dont come to CLE. They drafted Lebron #1 overall, the only reason they got Love is bc of another #1 pick. Only way to compete is to draft well and make good moves. Once they have a contending team that’s when they can attract players to build around those core players.

But it's possible they have a guy better than him in Mobley and also that 21 and 22-year old Garland and Sexton who have improved every season they've been in the league might get even better as their best years could still be 4-5 years away?

Certainly open to a deal for Simmons but not an acquire at any cost guy.

I could certainly see Garland being the better player than Sexton but Sexton actually is a good fit WITH Simmons.

I do think anyone is fair game but doubt they'd part with 2 from among sexton, Garland and Okoro. Okoro the only true wing so might be harder to deal him.....assuming they think highly of him.
