ever have a beer that was bottled in returnable bottles.....i forget the brand we used to get in atlanta but you were sure as shit guaranteed to cut your lip on some of the ones they kept using over and over. piels maybe?

Coors was never illegal on the East Coast. The Coors Brewing Company was adamant that their "Banquet" beer stay cold from brew process to store since it had no preservatives and was not pasteurized. The cost of cold shipping across the country was prohibitive so Coors did not have a national distribution chain until the 80's.
There is some interesting info available that explains how the slow growth of states that the beer was available in was part of their marketing strategy. It made the beer seem exclusive to those in a state without distribution and helped get the eventual kick off rolling.
Copra wasn’t liscened to distribute past the Mississippi. Only until 1986 was it allowed to distribute.
I wasn’t referring to the smoky and the bandit movie, I just remember it not being allowed on the east coast.

they havent sold pilsner urquel in a green bottle since 2014....maybe thats why yours are always skunked
