Carter's arrest I'm sure played a role in this trade happening as well.

I hope the Bears can sign at least one of the high priced FA OL out there. Then I would imagine Poles goes mostly defense in the draft.

Poles had to nail this trade. This could mark the beginning of the real turnaround. No more excuses for Fields.

Gets me to thinking, while I like that we have 3 picks between 53 & 64, we only have the #9 prior to those.....so that tells me Poles might be fixin' to sign some key free agents in the coming weeks. And I'm talking starter signings at that.

The Panthers are 'rumored' to be wanting Bryce Young with the pick. He might be the most NFL ready of the rookie QBs, even tho he'll nevertheless still be a rook. But if by chance they go for broke and take the uber athletic yet raw Anthony Richardson, this would almost guarantee a top 5 for us. We'll just have to wait and see.

Looking at the new order of our picks, We know Poles loves to collect draft picks like they're baseball cards or something, which means we could be in for more trade backs so that he can add even more to his pile. But I seem to recall he did make at least one trade UP last year. So I gets to wondering........think there's any chance Poles packages some of these picks to move up in the draft? I'm specifically thinking #s 61 & 64, and #s 133 & 136. Both doubles are ripe for offering them to a team needing additional picks, and in the process allowing for Poles to move up and get a particular player he might be targeting. Just food for thought.
