This might be one of the best football threads in the Hoop. Once all the crap stopped everyone started looking at what they saw as a 'need' and actually went out found some possible answers. Congrats guys, great job.

Now, from the other coast.

1. Get rid of Pete Carroll from everything else other than coach. He's not a bad coach, but he'll sell his mother to pick up a player he thinks is great, regardless whether or not he's needed. Pete likes to see himself on TV and in the paper. OR replace him completely with different mindset.

2. Hire Dimitroff as GM. He completely rebuilt the Falcons and then got undermined by the staff, who then all left and went elsewhere. The guy will fix things over a two to three year period.

You can't fix things from the bottom up. It has to be from the top down.

The Patriots have shown how fast a team can go from the penthouse to the shithouse and back to the penthouse over two years. If Wilson left, think how you'd feel if the Hawks brought in Cam Newton as the starter. Think Metcalf would still be a threat? or Lockett? Belichick brought in Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor and everyone laughed at him. Everyone ignore Mac Jones and by the grace of the football gods he fell into Bill's lap. It took six games to get the team together and nine games for all of the OLine to get healthy enough to play together. The point is that Belichick has a principal that he will not pay anyone, even Tom Brady and cut the remainder of the team short. If you think about that, it's worked for the Patriots since 1999 when Belichick took over. Why is it that no one else will follow that methodology? Would you pay Wilson $50M a year like Mahomes and then renegotiate the contract every year because you need money to get players to protect him? Every year you keep pushing money into the future. What happens if Mahomes gets a career ending injury and the Chirfs have to eat that contract guarantees? Right now, that's about $36M a year until 2030. Or would you pay a DL like Aaron $40M a year knowing that 27% of DL will be on the IR every year?

It's called common sense. You never mortgage the future for one player. The deal for Adams was stupid. The Jets wanted to get rid of him. Why pay a premium on top of a fair offer? Did you honestly believe that a defensive player would guarantee a Super Bowl trophy?

Per Bill Belichick, "There are 47 other guys out there every week who are equally important than the one."

Thing is Brady was always willing to take a pay cut, Wilson will have to turn into that type player where he sacrifices for the team. That's a true team player!

best way for the Hawks to make Playoffs is if they win out ( tough task ) and tie the 49ers record. Looks like the 49ers are going to win today but they got some tougher games ahead ( @ Titans, @Rams )
