Couple who would easily be better:

Armie Hammer

Josh Brolin

Jon Hamm

I think Jon Hamm would of knocked it out of the park.

I'll do it for less than any of those guys. Few million, maybe? Okay.

I don't think Hammer (not talking bout the site owner, of course) has the gravitas. He's like Affleck 2.0, imo. Aaron Sorkin's script was idiot-proof, and that's the only reason he's gotten any notoriety at all.

Brolin could work. I think Ethan Hawke could do okay, too, actually.

Hamm would indeed be excellent. I'm still waiting for him to do a great comedy film.

Only if you laid off all of the lifting for about a year. Your physique is just too intimidating to work as Batman.

Yeah, I guess you're right. There goes another couple million - again. Can't argue with logic like that.

Why aren't they bringing back Christian Bael? I didn't think he was great, but they have the recurring theme. I didn't like how they never had the same one for Batman in the 90's.

I am thinking about pro wrestlers that could. They seem to be either too big, too small, or too young. I think Cody Rhodes would be a good Batman, but he's young. Randy Orton might be alright.

A pro wrestler as a superhero recalls the disastrous decision making of Joel Schumacher more than of Christopher Nolan, who cast Bael as part of a package that relied on good acting and writing.

Remember, though, this new direction for Batman is in conjunction with the new Superman franchise, and several other DC franchises they're hoping to get off the ground.

Is this post serious? Bale wasn't great, but a pro wrestler could play Batman?

not really sure if affleck is a bad choice... sometimes we get fixated on the actors name and their previous movies to really be able to picture them as a role that we are all looking forward too... He has to be better than val kilmer and george clooney!!!

i really hope they dont mess this up... batman is a badass, and when superman is in the picture he is even more of a badass... The balls he must have to carry a piece of kryptonite in his utility belt, just in case...

nick cage lol. after spoofing batman in kickass I dont think he was even thought for the role.

Nobody thought keaton would be a good batman, he did well.

Why not christian bale? guy was a joke, he is a joke in every movie, that chapter is done, bring in a new guy.

I dont think Affleck was the best choice, but he played superhero alright, he was a great goon in the town, he can go where they decide to take the character.

Matt Damon might actually be a good one. was convincing as Jason Bourne and has been doing action fight moving movies for while now..... Also the guy who plays Thor dye his hair black and I think he can pull it off.

Ben affleck is better than matt damon for this role, he is taller and smarter looking... Batman is a superhero, but he is also a detective, and a great one... it would be nice to have a more cerebral batman for once... thats why i dont think affleck is that terrible of a choice, i can see him playing the dark smart strong guy... Its just affleck has that face that you want to hate, and i am not even sure why... The biggest problem with affleck, is that he already played a superhero, he was daredevil... i am not sure if marvel would want(or even has the choice) to lend one of their superhero actors to be in a DC movie...

Still giving affleck the benefit of the doubt.

But, I think Caviezel woulda killed it as batman.
