It looks like Don Treadwell is getting the Miami (OH) job.

Don Treadwell has been the OC for Michigan St for 4 years and was a WR at Miami (OH) from 78-81.

This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's been given ample time to find a HC gig. I guess his resume sucks and they see through his bullshit. The stats don't lie.

It'd not like these are top flight programs he's applying for.

Time to let him go.

I do not believe it has been worked out as of yesterday, but like I said when you first posted the potential.... See link below...

Not sure there is any ending result here yet. Let's give it 72 hours to see what shakes out. We should know more by then hopefully!

I wish Wats well no matter what happens, if anything happens. In my humble opinion, Beck is not ready for an OC position of this magnitude and I would say the same thing about Frost for those of you who are beating his drum.

If we are going to change, then in my opinion we need to get someone who has a proven track record in producing an Offense that can match our Defense in abilities and effort.

This is Nebraska we are talking about....not KState, Iowa State, Missouri, where the expectations are to just get to a bowl game!

We are going to the Big 10 next year and everyone already in the Big 10 will be after us to prove to the World that the powers in the Big 12 were not as good as what the perception was.

If we are going to do anything... Let's do it right and do it from the start of our new found home..

Our (Big 10) History begins right after our bowl game is over this week! :D

The Miami (OH) SID said they would not hire anyone till Jan 3rd or 4th to allow all the candidates finish their bowl games.

Since Ohio St's co-DC was in the running and they play at night on the 4th, he may be out. Michigan St play on the 1st.

It may come down to Treadwell and Watson.

I think your assumption above is pretty close, however... I can say that Miami (OH) opened up the search a little more then what was anticipated at first.

With Wats saying, the following;

It has been no sleepy December for Nebraska’s offensive coordinator. First the Big 12 Championship Game, then an interview for the Vanderbilt head coaching job, and now he appears to be one of the front-runners for the position at Miami (Ohio).

But Watson wasn’t about to budge after Monday’s practice.

“I don’t want to do that,” said Watson, when asked of his interest in any head coaching jobs. “That’s not what’s important this week.”

Any idea when Miami of Ohio might try to fill its opening?

“I have no idea, buddy. I have no idea,” he said. “I’m sure they’re going to get something done soon, though.”

Thank you BRS Scott Frost is not ready to be an OC three years WR's coach at Nike U means very little to me.

Bosie ST OC/QB coach Bryan Harsin would be my top canidate to replace Wats is he gets a HC job.

December 28

No decision yet, Miami’s Bates says
By Pete Conrad | Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 03:36 PM

Brad Bates, Miami University’s director of athletics, said this afternoon the rumors that Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell has accepted the job as the RedHawks’ head football coach are not true.“It’s just a rumor,” he said. “Nothing more.”

The search process continues, he said.

That doesn’t mean Treadwell might not end up with the job, assuming he has applied. His Miami ties and the work he has done with the Spartans make Treadwell an excellent candidate

I also should add...

Treadwell has more then a coaching change to consider here... This is not well known in our parts, but... his son... Blake is only a sophomore on MSU's team.

Just and FYI for those of you who are holding on to hopes that Wats still has a chance... Nuff said for now....:D
