Wow. That win by Purdue means there's a great chance IU is playing on the first day of the B1G tournament. All it would take is a Purdue win at home over Rutgers and a Michigan win at home vs Nebraska. IU is losing pretty much any tiebreaker scenario should that cluster of teams finish with 10 wins.

The B1G Tourney this year is going to be very interesting to say the least. Everyone outside of Corn and NW pretty much has a real shot to win it the way the conference season has gone.

I think you really need a double bye this year to win it. Beating 4 tourney level teams un 4 days is almost impossible especially given the parity this year

I'd eliminate the Gophers and IU just because they'd have to win 5 games in 5 days. Not unprecedented, but very unlikely. Especially for the Gophers because we have no depth like usual. The only team I think the Gophers match up with horribly is Michigan State. We likely will finish 12th so I hope MSU is the 2/3 seed.

Our offense is so much better when Inhen is out there as opposed to Demir air balling 3's.

Damn...that is the exact type of game I expect UW to lose...a game the other team shouldn't be in and they let them compete early and then can't seem to pull away...I guess maybe they're a little bit more mentally tough than I thought.

Hell of a job by Gard this season. This team doesn't have the best talent, and now they sit a top the league with one game to go. The culture at Wisconsin it at another level.

So if im looking at everything right

Wisky
MSU
Maryland

Are locked in as double byes

Illinois locks up the other with a win at OSU tomorrow but if the Illini lose tomorrow then the winner of the Iowa/Illinois game gets the last double bye

( Iowa would own the tiebreaker in a 3 way or 4 way tie at 12-8 do to best record vs the other teams at 12-8 )

@ericd7633 that how you see it too?

Yep that looks right to me. My guess is that it comes down to the Iowa/Illinois game.

it's annoying, but true. After crushing WI, MN and WI have gone different directions.

sigh

It is. Sad part is we have better talent than them. At least from a starting 5 perspective. They just don't do dumb shit, and miss FT's at the worst possible time. Just more mentally tough too.

I've been a pitino guy, but he can't survive this. I wish him the best, I bet he'll be HC again sometime, but just not working

I feel bad for Pitino. I actually think hes a good coach and his teams dont quit. Lesser teams wouldve packed it in after the Iowa and MD losses.

That said hes just let too many elite prospects leave the state. It was eventually going to catch up with him .

Home state recruits leave all the time. Hell, for all success Wi has, a lot of their top in state kids leave too.

I *like* Pitino. But it's been 7 years of same. I do think he finally has a good staff around him. But Oturu sounds good as gone, and next year we'll be right back to bubble team.

The frustration with me isn't that he hasn't landed the elite prospects in MN, guys like the Jones brothers, Trent Jr, Hurt, Suggs, Vaughn. It's that he hasn't had much success landing the secondary guys either. Guys like Jericho Sims(Texas), McKinley Wright(Colorado), Reuvers, Zeke Nnaji(Arizona), Tyrell Terry(Stanford), Dawson Garcia(Marquette), Dain Dainja(Baylor). Only one of those guys was a top 40 prospect. I get it if a top 10 guy wants to go to Duke, but to lose out on guys that aren't top 40 to programs like Stanford, Marquette, Colorado, and Baylor is frustrating.

Big second half surge to beat Illinois. Trailed by 7 at half. Won by 8. Managing a road win at Michigan State somehow to end the regular season would sure be sweet

So the final double bye will be the Iowa at Illinois winner.

Huge game for Iowa. Win and theyre the 4. Lose and they could be as low as the 8 i think
