They have seen this story over and over again for the last decade now.
Turgeon can recruit. He cannot coach. He turns (A-) recruits into mediocre results.
Gary Williams could not recruit. But, Gary Williams could turn C+ recruits into overachieving results.
I would love to be wrong. I hope Turgeon can win something soon, but I am not holding my breath.

Wow. That win by Purdue means there's a great chance IU is playing on the first day of the B1G tournament. All it would take is a Purdue win at home over Rutgers and a Michigan win at home vs Nebraska. IU is losing pretty much any tiebreaker scenario should that cluster of teams finish with 10 wins.

Mark Turgeon falls behind by 10 points to every team. He never has them ready to play.
He almost always gets out coached early.
Of course, he can engineer comebacks with the raw levels of NBA talent. He recruits a lot of talent.
But, come March, his teams are gassed. They are tired from the needless comeback wins.
A good coach curb-stomps helpless teams and lets his stars get some rest.
