That Illinois loss is haunting the Terrapins

I guess it was fun to give up an actual home game and play Illinois in MSG for the "cool factor of it all.

The schedule would be perfect to cruise into a 1st round bye otherwise.

What a terrible game between Michigan and Minnesota. I think 4 field goals in over 8 minutes to end half

He waited 4 years to really lock in minny kids.

Jarvis Omerosa looked good but Davison, Anim, John and Wright were all after thoughts??

Don’t get me wrong I don’t want Dbag on our team and I love where Theo and Sacar are at. But it’s stupid instate talent management.

I realize I'm a week late, but Pitino made Wright and John priorities, they went elsewhere

Anim was a miss.

Davison, he prioritized wright and moved to davison too late.

That's not to defend Pitino, but he did try hard on many of the MN kids he missed out on

6 years and one tournament appearance won't cut it, and I've generally been a Pitino defender

Wright definitely wasn’t a major priority. We were in on him but he was very quickly kicked to the curb for IW(major screw up by Pitino).

John the Gophs definitely went after too. But as Wright faded so did Theo(best bet was getting the package deal). By the time Theo announced the Gophs were 100% out.

That’s been the issue. He’s got guys like Davison and Anim that he basically ignored. And the guys he did offer he didn’t go all in after.

Disagreed on Wright, Wright had a long time to commit and when Washington was ready to commit (a top 100) he took it. Had Wright committed earlier he would've taken him.

Wright committed to Davidson, but when Archie Miller left, Pitino and him talked again, but Pitino couldn't free up a scholarship. There was a spot for Wright when he committed to Davidson, and Pitino would've taken him. Just didn't work out

While I would've taken Davison, I'm glad I don't have to defend his antics.

After years of Tubby/Pitino I'm ready for a coach with some offensive acumen

Think Hoiberg would give the Gophers a chance?

Gopherhole is throwing names like Tony Bennett(lmao), Wojo, Hopkins, Buzz, Cronin, Shaka. Insane people.

I think Oats is the best bet. Would be a nice get.

Musselman if he spurns UCLA

Lol. I mean the only guy that's plausible in that first group is Buzz since he went from a better job to a worse one, so there is precedent, but I think at this point he'd only leave VT for a premier gig. I heard his name thrown around for UCLA, he isn't turning that down for Minnesota.

I'd take Oats too, but I think he may have coached his way to a better job. The only good thing going for the gophers, is outside of UCLA there really isn't another premier job that projects to open. So they should have some good options.

Yeah true about Buzz, but there was a lot of factors there. Like you said, I think he’s big time job and/or a south job if he leaves.

Oats will definitely have options but like you said, not a ton of openings yet and he’s a Midwest guy and we have an AD with MAC connections. I think it’s a good chance to happen.

I'd rather have Moser than Oats if I'm the Gophers as I think he fits better but I get wanting to go after an offensive guy. Not sure he clicks with the roster though

Eh Moser has had one extremely amazing season, and then a bunch of mediocre/bad seasons. If that buzzer beater doesn't go down against Miami, is he really on anyone's radar? Also, if Wichita State doesn't move to the AAC does he even make the tournament? Oats has been more consistent IMO. And I think he'd be fine with next year's roster. Dupree will be gone, he's an awful shooter. We have two guys sitting out this year, eligible next year, and Gabe is a good shooter. Coffee can't shoot, but I'm hoping he'd be used differently with a new coach.
