Looked as impressive as any of the other East teams this week, even if it was against the Browns.

LOL. It looked that way, but it is only one week, and the Eagles played the Browns. Let's wait a few weeks and check back, but....maybe?

No, the Giants look like the best team. That defense is scary good, and I think the offense is as well if they can figure out a running game. Honestly I think we will see the Dallas offense and defense do much better this year and the Giants will end up winning the East.

I cannot think of another Defense that is as bad as the Browns. Couple that with a poor performing offense and Slippery Rock College would fare well against the Browns.

On the Giants I think the book is still out on their O line but for now I have to go with them. Once there is enough game tape on Wentz he probably won't look like a world beater.

The NFC East winner will be between the New York and Washington. After week 1, I think a lot of games that Eagles fans were chalking up as losses are now being looked at as toss ups. They would still need to win a lot of those toss ups to have any real shot at winning the division. I don't see it happening.

If I'm an Eagles fan... I'm psyched about how the Eagles in general and Wentz in particular looked in week 1. No doubt.

So I don't want to take anything away from them...

THAT BEING SAID...

They were playing the Browns, man. The Browns. The Cleveland F'n Browns.

I still have a healthy degree of skepticism because of that fact. I'm going to have to see these results replicated against a real team.

And to plug my team a bit... the revamped Giant defense looked stout against the 'boys.

I know, I know... the Cowboys started a rookie QB. That definitely worked to the Giants advantage. But I think the Cowboys are going to run over some other teams this season with their big O-line... and I really think the Giants did a great job containing their run.

I too see the Giants as the best at this point. Improved defense and decent offense (though the o-line is a major weak spot).

Something to consider: Either the Redskins or Cowboys are going to be 0-2 after this weekend. If the Cowboys lose, they will be 0-2 in the division. That's a sizable hill to climb in a division that may come down to tiebreakers.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Maybe, with a lot of ifs.

The Redskins better find and put on their big boy pants after getting punched in the mouth by Pitt last night.

The Cowboys might put up 200+ on the ground vs that piss poor tackling and run defense.

They beat the freaking Browns so no.

It's probably the Giants right now followed by Dallas and Philly.

Prescott wasn't the problem, he actually played pretty well considering everything. The Dallas D was pretty bad, saw a lot of missed tackles/poor tackling.

Based on week 1? I think Dallas creams Washington. They at least gave the Giants a fight, they just fucked it up at the end. The 'Skins were fucking awful last night on D and Cousins is not a franchise QB.

A little off topic.....but Elliott didn't impress me at all and he may be very much over-rated.

I agree that Dallas looked far more competent overall. But trust me, you never know who is going to win a Redskins-Cowboys divisional game, ever. Look at the history of this. The worse team often rises to the challenge.

Yes, I think the Giants were smart and saw that Dallas has one of the best OLines so they got back to what won them 2 SB's and got a stout DLine. It was a smart move and already paid off. I don't think many teams will stop our running game or give our OLine as many fits as the NYG did sunday.

That's a reasonable review after 1 week, but remember that he too is a rookie. He was going against what will probably be the best DLine in the league this year. He spent all game helping block for his rookie QB, so he didn't get to hang out in the flat and get room to operate. I didn't see many times where I was thinking "why run into the pile when a hole is open over there". He just had no holes to hit last week. I think he can do much better against Washington. Thought I expect to see blitzing from WAS about 75% of the time. That keeps Zeke in the backfield and keeps Dak from standing tall.

Week One Overreaction:

Clowney finally living up to being the #1 pick in the draft. (Check back in Week 4, he should be back on IR by then).
