ccording to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, Manny Machado is expected to take the highest offer that he gets, regardless of where the team is located.
The initial belief at the outset of the offseason was that Machado preferred to play on the east coast, though that appears to have shifted. The Padres seem to be the team with the most momentum in the Machado sweepstakes at the moment, but the White Sox, Yankees and Phillies remain in the mix, and there could be mystery teams in the bidding as well.
