this guy gets it...

I'll admit you guys are probably tourney good but I wouldn't count on winning any games once you get there.

You dont think we will make it out the first round? :L Foolishness! Give us at least a round!

Love the backcourt this year.. Win a few of these OCC games and we should be a lock for the Tourney. Problem is, I don't see us going very far without a physical center. I don't care if he's 8' tall. Can't play like a bitch.

Just depends. If ASU is one of the last Pac teams in, you are going to be a 10-12 seed and playing a 5-7 seed. And depending on the location/traveling fan base, it could make things even more difficult. How many ASU fans would travel to the east coast to watch the Devils take on a team like VCU somewhere like Philly? And don't even give me an answer like "There would be fans there because of our alumni strength..." That might work for a bowl game in football, but in basketball, it would essentially be a road game for you. ASU would need to be a single-digit seed before I would give them a win in March, and that by NOOOOOOO means is anywhere close to a given.

Winning a tournament game isn't easy dude... especially when you're not a top seed. I said "don't count on winning a game in the tourney" I never said it was impossible.

ASU has only won two tourney games in almost the last 20 years, and one in the last 10. You should know more than most about the difficulty in getting to March and winning a game. Again, no one is saying that ASU will not make the dance, and no one is saying that they won't win a game if they do make it to March. That would be setting up to put your foot in your mouth. All we are saying is that There are over 30 games to be played, with about 1/5 of those games against ranked teams, to decide whether or not it's going to happen. Saying that you will make it to March and win a game is at least as likely of eating crow. Last year ASU started 14-2 and 3-0 in the Pac. ASU fans were flat out calling for a shot at the Pac, and a ticket to dance. Then ASU finished 7-10 and 6-9 in the remaining Pac games. Take it game by game. The game in LV against UNLV will be a good marker. Then you have consecutive games against Marquette in Tempe, and Creighton in Fresno. Those will be even more telling. Regardless, The road games in the Pac will be the most important for the committee. @ UCLA, @ AZ, @ Stanford, @ Cal, @ Colorado, @ Oregon. These (plus the Pac tourney) are going to be the games that get you in or keep you out. If you at least break even, then the three games in the non-con will be looked at for seeding. No player on the team has beaten a ranked opponent while wearing an ASU jersey. I would wait for that to happen a couple/few times before starting talk about giving ASU a first-round win in March.

That ASU team in 08-09 would of gone to the elite 8, if we would of used the system we use now, because Harden was double teamed that whole tourney, and we were the hottest team in the PAC coming out of the tourney. We should of beat Oregon as well and that would of got us into the tourney there was a bs charge call that wasn't called. We wont have a problem with Colorado we didn't last year and we wont this year you guys will though, as it seems that's a tough match up for you guys.

Our only Ncaa tourney appearance in 08-09 and they gave us a tough road, while Uofa had an easy rode.

All I read was a bunch of coulda, shoulda, woulda. You're saying you would not only have beaten Syracuse in '09, but also Blake Griffin at his best???? You're lying to yourself. When will you learn that you need to let the winning do the talking for you. Win, and then you don't have to explain your losses.

Whatever man, your team wont be as good as you think, just because they are 5 star recruits it means nothing.

Are you seriously trying to make a case against Miller's recruiting?

Again man, I just let the wins speak for themselves. In Miller's 4 years at AZ, he's had 3 consecutive top 10 recruiting classes, 3 consecutive 23+ win seasons (with one at 30 wins), an Elite Eight, a Sweet Sixteen, 5 tourney wins, with a Pac 10 Championship, and 3 draft picks with one picked at #2 overall, and another getting picked after his freshman year and he wasn't even a starter. And this year is primed to be his best yet. So we'll just see what happens.

Trust me I understand how hard it will be. But let me be clear! Last years team and this years team are two completely different teams.
