And he left 2 of those games early, one with a concussion and the other with the ACL tear.

He had a total of 5 TDs last year.

Even if you cut three games off this year (or any year)...he still gets the record with 5 games left.

If you take away those 5 games in 2008, he would have tied Graham Harrell's TD record in 1 more game and 2 less pass attempts

Graham Harrell played in 4 seasons, Colt Brennan played in 3 seasons. Should Colt Brennen still be considered the leader and Graham Harrell have an asterisk?

I have to look at the competition he's facing. 73 points and 9 td's against Rice. Rice, which is a pretty poor team got over 400 yards of total offense and scored over 30 points. Too bad Keenum didn't play in a better conference. Houston is undefeated, but I doubt if they could beat anyone in the top 25.

If you look at the competition he is facing, also look at the talent that his team has. I would bet that Graham Harrell had far better talent around him as well.

Ive never liked the competition thing when it comes to stats. Keenum plays bad teams with bad players as his teammates. If his teammates were any good they wouldnt be at Houston right?? I get the argument when it comes to W/L records and rankings but who you play doesnt matter at all for stats because your teammates arent elite level either. If it was so easy then the Marshall/Southern Miss/UCF QB would have the same stats. Keenums stats are because he's damn good and because his team throws the ball all the time ( just like Harrell, Kingsbury, Klingler, Ware, Brennan, Chang, Detmer before him)

It's more an issue that he's playing into the 4th quarter of blowouts to pad his stats. Why was Keenum throwing a TD pass with 10 minutes left in the game up by 32 points?

That is something I don't understand. It's one thing if he was still chasing the record, but he had already broken it. I'm not one that cares when teams run up the score. It's not wrong IMO, but Keenum missed most of last season due to injury. If he had gotten injured in that situation, then it would have been idiotic for him to be in there.
