That is something I don't understand. It's one thing if he was still chasing the record, but he had already broken it. I'm not one that cares when teams run up the score. It's not wrong IMO, but Keenum missed most of last season due to injury. If he had gotten injured in that situation, then it would have been idiotic for him to be in there.
Houston isnt in the position to be able to sit their starters and let Rice make the game look close. The Cougars need to win by as much as they can every week if they want to climb the rankings. This isnt some AQ team or even a team like Boise or TCU that can just win and have it be OK. If Houston wants to keep moving up they need to win HUGE every week. They are still playing for a BCS game you know. If Boise drops one then Houston will have a shot but not if they only win by 5 or 6.
