Ugh -- now I'm going to have no choice but to hate him again. I can't believe he'd lower himself enough to play on the same team as Princess Cindy...

Do I really need to answer that? My concern is that Homer is committed to Shelley because of the signing. Of course I would rather have asham, but apparently shelley was a lock for the team from the day he signed.

Asham's too slow to play 3rd line with Giroux and Shelley's a better fit for the 4th line since he can take on all comers if necessary. Powe's a perfect sub he can fit in well at any fwd position and center. Nothing against Asham but those guys are better fits for this team plus they can both kill penalties....so not sure why'd you think this? Seriously Asham wasn't good enough for the role they had him in.

Asham is a terrific 3rd liner. Unfortunately, the Flyers don't use a traditional 3rd line but instead play their developing skill players there. He can't play the 4th line because he's just too small, and he's just not good enough to keep up with NHL-caliber 2nd liners or 1st liners in development. There was/is no room for him here.

I really liked him on the 3rd line with the young guys. I thought he provided protection and created space for them. Then during the playoffs he thought he was a skilled sniper and stopped doing his primary job. Giroux was getting run left and right during the finals and Ash did nothing. If he is not playing his role, then there was no space for him.

Well good news they have Ash slated to play 2nd line with staal and malkin. I almost spit up my cereal this morning...haha! Talk about a lack of depth on the wings Philly fans should be ecstatic about this....

Are there any Flyer players that you guys know of that wouldn't mind taking a run a Asham?

I hate to see my players go to a rival. It can be fun and interesting when it happens to other teams though.

I don't think so. He was a great team player so I doubt anyone has a grudge against him, Kind of like with that dude who used to play for us, but sold out and went to Washington?

Possible, but I don't think so. Carter is quite a bit bigger than Asham, but I think he only has one fight.

I think that asham going to shitsburg sux but like most of you said he was really the only odd man out. Not really skilled in the offence department (i know it wasnt his role) defence was average at best and he was to small the play the toughguy role.....soooo good luck playing with the queen of hockey and we will smash you later.
