I remember going to see this game every year as a kid to visit my family in Philly. I saw them in the old JFK Stadium and Veterans Stadium. It was a tradition with my family. Most of my family was enlisted and commissioned in the US Army, likemyfather, so I went down to my recruiting station from my hometown my senior year in HS and enlisted with the US Navy (lol). I wanted to shake up the family tradition. Now I have cousins who followed my footsteps and went into the Navy. I remember my uncle who passed away a few years back, telling me why he chose the Army as an officer rather than the Navy. He told me he was going into the Special Forces (green berets). He was unaware that the Navy had any spec ops comparable to the SF. His 2 tours in Nam he was wrong as platoon worked along the Navy Frogmen (SEALs) known today. Some interesting history with this game and I will never miss a game. Just remember, these guys will be out in the battlefield protecting our freedom soon enough. Hope for a good and safe game. Go Navy!
My dad was an army ranger in Nam, and quite a few of my family, including our son served in the navy. I will always pull for navy, but above all else I pray that all of them, and the cadets from both sides, serve with honor and dignity and come Home after their service
