Are you excited yet?

I haven't been this stoked about the Sharks since the year they acquired Boyle and Blake in the same offseason.

Top 6 is very good. Defense is well rounded. Goaltending is solid. Jumbo has had a revelation and knows he must be more than just a playmaker. The front office has shown a commitment to winning it all, which has to trickle down to the players.

What do you all think? Is this the year? Should we expect nothing less than the Cup?

I'm super excited for the season to start.....mostly just so I don't have to watch Heatley's lazy, $7.5mil paycheck collecting arse (although I'll miss Seto, always liked him even though he was inconsistent) and because I'm excited about the new additions.....oh yeah and Hockey is my favorite sport.

As for Cup aspirations, I'm "Comfortably Numb" on the subject.

Not sure about the back to backs, but even though it's shitty for the Sharks, I'll like it as a viewer, lol.

As for the 5 days off after the first game, probably has something to do with the teams coming back from Europe (but I'm not 100% sure).

Hah.. maybe but I bet the Sharks will be the last team to play game #2 by the time 10/14 rolls around (just too lazy to look it up is all). That part is just super strange...

EDIT: OK, just checked schedules at nhl.com.. that was painful... yeah, all teams will have played 2-5 games by 10/13, except SJ. Oh well, no big deal, just weird.

Not super excited yet, but I'm getting there. The junior hockey season has already started, so I've kind of got some of my hockey fix. Enough to tide me over anyway. It's slow going for the Sharks the first week with only one game, so it's kind of hard to get into it. Once the season is a couple weeks underway, things will start to pick up.

Yeah roster turnover is always an unpredictable factor. Especially the type of turnover the Sharks had. Two guys that like to keep the puck on their stick (Burns, Havlat), who knows how they will mesh with the rest of the team.
