A couple bounces the other way and they could be 7-0.

The Ravens being 1-6 is hands down, the biggest surprise of this year.

I'm going to throw another team out there...The Colts would be on my list. I had them as an overrated team but I never thought they would struggle the way they have so far. I mean it seemed like almost every analyst out there was picking the Colts to the Super Bowl and Andrew Luck for MVP. Again I figured them to be overrated and not to the level they had them at but I still expected them to be a lot more competitive than what they have been.

The Ravens though I do agree are quite the surprise. As much as Tgann wants to say they have had a ridiculously tough schedule I guess I just don't see it. Getting the Broncos early when they have a brand new coaching staff. The Raiders are still a team in transition. Bengals at home and Browns at home have been wins in the past where they just don't lose. Getting the 49ers with all the chaos going on there. Steelers without Ben is a big reason in my opinion they actually have the one win. I guess to me I just don't view this first part of the schedule as that grueling and yet here they are. It is why I wouldn't put them as the best 1-6 team in NFL history. They are a team that has no confidence on either side of the ball.

Interesting choice of words. I do like Luck. I think he can join Rodgers among the best in the league. He is playing terrible this year and honestly that whole organization is just falling apart. The coach doesn't look like he wants to be there. The defense is inconsistent. It just looks like a promising season quickly going down the drain.

So then what was his 2014 season where he lead the league in touchdowns, 7th in QB Rating, and 3rd in yards passing? Not saying it was an elite season but I would say that was a pretty darn good season.

The Ravens have lost to the Raiders, the 49ers, and the Browns (AT HOME!). They are an injured quarterback and a terrible kicker away from being 0-7. They're probably the worst team in the league.

5 of those games were on the road (and 4 were on the west coast). 2 of those teams are undefeated now. The Bengals have had the Ravens number the last few years. Besides Steve Smith, there's been rookies or undrafted receivers in the passing game this year in a new system. Yeah they could have/should have won some of those but nobody has had the schedule like the Ravens this year so far.

The last time a team played 5 of their first 7 on the road was the 2000 Ravens.

Aren't there dozens of QBs with one-off seasons like that? Too many turnovers from Luck.

The Ravens are a well coached team that's talented enough to keep games close, but not talented enough to overcome their quarterback who likes to throw game losing interceptions in the end zone.

I haven't kept up with the stats but early in the season I remember the announcers saying he had been getting hit a ridiculous amount of times. The offensive line must be in awful shape.

I can buy the "couple of bounces" once or twice. But 6 times? No, that just means you choke or suck. Bad luck doesn't just happen 6 of 7 tries.

Every year since he came into the league he has improved in pretty much every category. While he definitely hasn't been perfect it was understandable why people were thinking this kid was getting ready to have a special season. Obviously it hasn't happened this year but I do understand why people were excited by this kid.
