I was thinking the same exact thing, and if I had to put money on it, it's going to be for Matt Kemp. I'd hate to see it, but you have to give up something to get something. Landing someone like Kemp brings interest, and with interest from free agents means someone like Cano could be right behind. It's a bold move, but a move that needs to be made. Nobody worth a damn is signing in Seattle because of Walker, but Kemp could attract others. I guess we just need to sit back and wait for the fireworks.

I think it will be a paxton-franklin/ackley deal honestly. If you sign Cano then either franklin or ackley become expendable especially with the bloomquist signing. I think it will be paxton because for the #1 prospect in baseball you better be getting a high caliber outfielder not named kemp or ethier in return. I think Paxton-Franklin gets you kemp or ethier honestly.

I think the M's will throw 8 years and $228 million at Cano. Which is reasonable considering how good of a player he is.
I think they also will move one pitching prospect and Ackley or Franklin for an outfielder.

I honestly don't see them starting the year with both ackley and Franklin on the squad.

So it's beginning to look like the M's might just get Cano after all. Compared to the major players the have had interests in the past, this is about as serious as it can get.

What we know is that the M's have a lot of money to spend, but I'm not sure if a 250mil is worth it. I think if they want to win, it eventually has to be done.

I think it would take Paxton-Franklin, some deeper prospects like Kivlehan/Marlette or Carson Smith/Victor Sanchez and possibly some cash

As awesome as it would be to have all 3 seager kids on the mariners the Dodgers aren't parting with their #2 prospect on top of Kemp without the name Walker being in that equation and also, aren't we pretty set at short with Miller?
