Yes, those 12-0 seasons certainly prove that he is a lousy coach. Why couldn’t he be as good as Willingham or Davie. The funny thing is that not only do I think he had a good year, but the AP writers and the Home Depot coach’s award were both given to Kelly. Crazy that nobody seems to realize that he did a lousy job this year. Just you. I hope he is just as lousy next year, and the year after that. But good news for you that game day genius Bob Davie finished the year with a 3-9 record at New Mexico. Hard to believe that a game day genius could finish with a 3-9 record while a lousy game day coach goes 12-0 and is in the playoff. I think we all know you’re upset that the AP writers passed on Davie for coach of the year.

here's the thing about awards. they are often given without real regard for who might be best at something. only on who, as i suggested earlier in this thread, has the most success (maybe 'surprising' success is more apt). they couldn't give it to saban because ... he's expected to be good. not heupel because he's not well known. they know there's lots more giddy notre dame fans (like you) than ucf has. are you naive enough to think the ap doesn't consider things like this (silly question i know)?

As an ND fan I’ve dealt with people like you my whole life. Growing up in the South it was especially bad. I used to listen to people tell me how Ara was totally overrated and wasn’t close to Bear Bryant or Vince Dooley. They’d explain how they were really Notre Dame fans, but Notre Dame was only good because the refs were getting paid off or the networks wanted us to win. ND seems to be an easy team to hate, unfortunately it hasn’t been so bad recently since we haven’t had much success lately, but the fact that you guys are coming out of the woodwork again is clearly a positive sign. Hopefully in a year or two you will have totally lost your mind with how badly Kelly sucks.

I used to listen to people tell me how Ara was totally overrated and wasn’t close to Bear Bryant or Vince Dooley. They’d explain how they were really Notre Dame fans, but Notre Dame was only good because the refs were getting paid off or the networks wanted us to win.
