I was right behind you on Miles. Theres a big ass difference between being a #2 WR in the NFL and a #3, and a jump from 3 to 4. Harris isnt a 2 and I'm not sure TWilliams is a 5, let alone a 2 or 3

T Williams is an example of another failed experiment at receiver. Kid is not ready. Just playing because the Jones wasted a high pick on him.

Miles Austin has been my favorite player on the Cowboys the past few years. I'm an Austin homer for sure. But I have had it with him. I don't know if its lack of conditioning, bad luck, improper diet or he just doesn't have it in his DNA. But this is the 3ird or 4th year in a row that we can't keep him on the field. He has a very nice contract for himself but he is killing us. I hate to say it and can't believe I'm saying this, but its time to unload his contract and get his injury riddles ass out of town. I'm fed up with him.

He's a rookie. They don't all come in ready to dominate. Despite his faults, he's been getting open. That's a start. There's no way we should write this one off already.

I still think he along with rat will be gone after the season. I like how our roster had been molded for the most part since Garrett has taken over as HC.

Just got to keep with it, getting rid of the old injured players or players who are on the downside of their careers for players who earn it and really want it.

Now I'm not saying Miles isn't good. I know he is. But, he is too injured and I think it's been taking a toll on him. He just doesn't have the acceleration anymore.

Way too early to call Williams a bust, he was just drafted this year.

Totally agree with you on Ratliff for sure. Not sure If I posted it in this site but I do remember posting on the ESPN site before coming over here that I wanted to get rid of him way before the season even started. Another dead beat player with a nice contract that is still collecting money and we are getting nothing out of. Plus I totally dislike the guy and his attitude.

Yeah, I think for sure Rat and Spencer are gone. Miles may or may not because of his contract I think someone said might be just as much to cut him as to keep him.

I should have been more specific. I was actually suggesting at the end of the year so we don't take cap hits.

I'm kind of with you. I don't get the hatred for this kid. Yeah, I know all the screw ups. The big fumble and the wrong pattern on the int in the Giant game, but I put blame on Romo too for throwing that ball at all under the circumstance. I know the drops also, but he has made a few plays. He made a nice sideline catch, if Romo can throw the ball anywhere near him on first pass to him of the year it's a big TD. He probably shouldn't even be playing much right now, but he is. He is a rookie learning this offense and he missed time with an injury to boot. I don't buy the crap about him playing over Harris because he is Jerry's draft pick. The coaches obviously see more in him than the others. They aren't playing a guy because Jerry wants them to when they know that if the season goes poorly they may be gone. I'm not saying he is playing well now or should be playing much now, but what I'm saying is I am in no way writing off his career as some seem to be.

How much is he due to make for the rest of his deal? Then the question becomes, is it worth it for what he brings to the table the 10 games or so he's healthy enough to play each year?

Is your question in relation to cutting him this year, or next year? My comment about not cutting him was about this year because I thought this was a follow up to some threads about trading and cutting him. If we are talking about next year, then that could change things, but I can't answer at this point. If we cut him next year there is a very slight cap savings as compared to keeping him. If we cut him post 6/1 there is a pretty big cap savings next year and also a pretty big savings going forward. But, whether or not we need to bring in another WR and wipe that savings out would be a big piece of the decision making process. I don't see how that answer is known right now. He certainly is not worth anywhere near his cap hit of the next 3 years, but Mike Wallace just signed and he sure isn't worth his contract. I just think WRs in this league are the most overpaid players. So you either pay, or you do without.

But, there is absolutely no reason to cut him right now.

Austin is pretty good when his hamtring is not pulled. His hammy has been pulled for the last 3 seasons. How much longer do we keep roster spot open for a player that can't stay on field. Williams potentially can be a good number 2 down the road. He is green yet. I like harris quite a bit as he makes plays. The former ESPN homers make me laugh sometimes. This team is a mess right now. I was on here before the 2012 draft and said that claiborne was not the player everyone thought. Overrated garbage. We should have drafted Jenkins who actually makes plays.

Claiborne will get better. Too talented. I think some players you just have to let play the game their way. He is confused right now. No doubt him and Carter have killed us defensively. Both though have way too much talent to sit there and watch P. Manning on Sunday.
