Anthony Barr OLB UCLA - 6'4 248 and runs a 4.48 40? He or Jake Matthews would be hard to pass up, but if we could trade that #2 overall pick (IF we end up there) for more high picks...?

:suds: Tell me about this guy UCLA fans.. He sounds like a beast.

I don't know SJ, I don't see us beefing up the defense, that is already our strength, we obviously need O-linemen. I like #55, Olgetree has had decent games and is only a rookie, Dunbar is very serviceable.

We need oline help and maybe a big DB or safety, oh wait we had Bradley Fletcher, still pissed they let him go! Oh and I guess we need someone, anyone even if it's Bradford, to step up at QB.

Well SJ76. The prevalent convention at this juncture is if we end up with 2nd overall pick, Cleveland wants it for 2 number ones and a third this year (many articles intimating such). That would get us a boatload of players in the first round which could easily be Barr, Wadkins, and maybe even Matthews. If not on the latter, certainly Kouandijo.

Oh I Know... I am all for getting the offense in a place where we can compete agaisnt tough defenses, especially in our division. Just wanted to see what the Bruin fans had to say on this guy. I haven't seen alot of him.

Whoever the QB is they will need to be quick on their reads and pull the trigger.

SJ the guy is simply a beast.......a freakin beast. My only concern about his is he could be another Aaron Curry. Remember him? Played great in college and had off the chart numbers at the combine but failed miserably in the NFL. Only thing that I'm worried about is he might not translate well into the NFL.

Retro if we end up w/ 3 first round picks and a future #1 I will be ecstatic! Hopefully Fisher & Snead don't muck it up.

That makes two of us jacobarch. I'd love for Cleveland to offer us a package and we still end up with Matthews, (or Kounadijo) Barr, and Wadkins in the first. I'd be feelin' pretty stoked if that happens.

He looks like a beast. And yeah I have concerns with some of these young LBs coming into the league lately. Aaron Curry, McClain from BAMA.. But I don't know shit about this kid. If he's humble or what?

But man, 6'4 248 and a 4.48 40? That with another DB would make this defense unreal.

He could be the guy that covers guys Like Vernon Davis, Gronk etc.

Barr seems pretty chill I follow his twitter feed and he seems like a level headed guy. No trash talk, no gansta talk etc. We'll see tho, these guys always make me nervous taking them in the 1st.
Ogeltree seems to be working out thus far but we wont really know until year 2 or 3.

Vernon Goulston was another OLB that busted. But he was more of a 3-4 guy. Who knows? Maybe Curry couldn't handle the Seattle rainy days and lost it.

I think Fisher's 1 year off, he got better as a coach and I think young players play hard for him. But one thing ALL of his team of the past had in common was toughness.

I was looking at the draft prospects - now is about the time I really start. And it looks like 6-8 DTs will be drafted in the first 3 rounds. OLB is talented thru round 1. Many good CB's, but no great shutdown CBs. Safeties are down too this year - no Eric Berry or Earl Thomas. De's are always loaded. But overall the upcoming draft is more offensive loaded than defense. The exact Opposite of last year. Which bodes well for the Rams cause we need to score points.

The WR class is really loaded. More so than last year and the best since Julio and AJ. Top Tier WR's? The sleeper I like late is LaDamien Washington from Mizzou - 6'4 205 and ran a 4.39. Only a few stud #1 WRs though. RBs - I only want James Wilder Jr, he's 6'1 229 with good power, speed and feet - a SJAX clone. And he would be a good mix with our bowling ball little guys. There will probably be 8 OT's drafted in the first 2 rounds, which makes it hard to take Matthews so early even though he's going to be very good.. So will Lewan, and the OT's from Florida St, BAMA, and Auburn.

QB's? I like Carr or Boyd later, maybe Morris. That's it. No thanks Johnny Football. You don't have Russell Wilson speed and Brees' arm strength. And Bridgewater has played Big east defenses all year. he won't be ready.

More to come.

If we can get Sammy Watkins and an OT I would be stoked.

Go OLB?QB? DT in the 2nd.

CB/QB in the 3rd.

Still early

Here we go:

1a - Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson
1b - Cameron Erving FSU or Taylor Lawan Michigan, OT
2 - DT! I need to see more from Combine, but there will be a few good ones here.
3 - Taj Boyd, QB Clemson
4 - James Wilder Jr, RB Florida St
5 - LaDamian Washington, WR Mizzou

Now this is early and Taj may not fall this far, but we might get more picks too. But that's an offensive upgrade! Notice all of the offensive players were on pretty good offenses this year. They know how to score!

And how dumb us Marriota? He may not be the #1 QB next year either with Jameis Winston. And if Hundley stays too you never know. Stupid!

SJ76, Your preliminary picks are stout. I'd rather take Matthews if at all possible. Lewan or Kouandrijo will be there with our second if we don't get the Cleveland deal. Not bad though. I really think you and KSUDodgers need to pony up your resumes and send them off to the Rams FO, C/O of player development. I think you both have a second career in the Rams organization.

I am often on Cleveland Browns sites and as a whole the fans remember 2 years ago when the Redskins jumped them and got RGIII and they instead took Richardson and then Weeden. They don't want that again, they will deal, especially with a new owner, coach and new staff.

Great news, Blue! We need another haul - deal with Cleveland - to overcome the Quick and Pead picks.

You guys keep forgetting about the "cornerback" position, our secondary sucks !!

Zeke - no shutdown CBs really in this draft. many good ones though. There is some depth there and we could take one in the 2nd/3rd and find a DT elsewhere.

Retro - the OT from FSU and Auburn are stout too. It's a very deep draft for OT's, which it makes it hard for me to take the #1 guy. Even though Matthews will be very good.

SJ - to answer your question - How dumb is Marriota? - As dumb as fourth round pick Matt Barkley.

I'm more worried about getting another starting safety. If the safeties weren't being protected in this defense, the CBs could be more aggressive. Rams definitely need to add another CB behind Tru and JJ, but I think the need at safety is just as important if not more so. However, maybe a veteran safety would be more stabilizing than another rookie starter.
