Great article. I like the Vick/Shaub reference. It makes total sense. If we are offered 2 first round picks and a 3rd for RG3 you have to take it and here is why:


If one of those 1st round picks is J. Clowney its a no brainer but even if its not if Cousins fails in 2014 you still have two first round picks in 2015 to find a QB plus Cousins. If you trade Cousins for a 2nd and RG3 fails you don't have the extra picks to get a QB in the 2015 draft. Plus you have no backup QB. That is a lot of pressure on the organization and RG3 to succeed in 2014.

This will sound trollish, but it's not my intention. I think you'd get more fair trade offers for Cousins right now. Not saying he's better but he has shown he can run an NFL offense while RG3 has to be questioned at this point. RG3's potential scares the shit out of me but so far his talents are more with his legs.

I said more FAIR trade value. That meaning you will get more than the 4th Rd pick you used while you'll get no where near what you paid for RG3.

Everyone knows Cousins can fetch a 2nd round pick. If the Texans, Rams, Jags, or Raiders offered 2 first round picks for RG3 I think you have to do it.

dean , clowney appears to be one of the 1st picks off the board and the rams could own the 1st overall or 2nd

i dont see a qb who can be # one overall so clowney could be gone . i doubt he gets by the 2nd pick in the draft .

the point is you cant assume we get clowney . you can only assume we get the pick which wouldnt be bad

I don't see any team giving two 1st's and a 2nd for RG3. He has too many questions. On if he can run an NFL offense or not. This is what I mean when I say "Fair Trade value". I don't see a team risking anything close to the price paid for him while Washington can easily get much more return on Cousins. A 2nd for Cousins and someone will jump quick. I could see you all getting a 2nd and an additional late Rd pick here.

I'm looking at what you can get at the moment not what hes worth. But tell me why a team wouldn't just draft an unknown qb in a qb heavy draft vs. Sending 2 1st round picks for the unknown RG3?
