He is building a nice complex next to First Niagara Center. Bring your skates when you come to our city this along with many of the other changes they are doing on the waterfront are really nice. The Buffalo Sabres today pledged to add to the energy along the city’s waterfront during Mayor Byron W. Brown’s announcement that the team had won the right to develop the Webster Block.
“We will not be an absentee landlord,” Sabres President Ted Black said. “We will do right by this city. We will do right by our fans.”
Under the Pegula plan, the waterfront will soon be home to two ice rinks, a hotel and parking structure, as well as a New Era flagship store and a “destination” Tim Hortons restaurant.
The new development will connect through an elevated walkway to First Niagara Center, making the three-rink complex the first of its kind in the National Hockey League, Black said.
Sabres officials stressed that they want to make the parcel, which sits next to their headquarters, a welcoming, attractive place for visitors.
