remember when you said heyward was the new hank aaron?

LOL, yeah, that wasn't me. I thought the worst thing they could do was have Hank hand this kid the baton from the start of his career. Granted he's young, but just not very consistent. He's got years of baseball left, I Just don't see him being anything more than Jeff Francouer.

Freeman hasn't come close to having a season as good as Heyward's 2010 or 2012 seasons.

Heyward hasn't lived up to the next Aaron/Mays/whatever some people hyped him up to be, but he hasn't been a bust by any means.

Heyward has more tools,

But Freeman is a better pure hitter and that it will start to illustrate itself more clearly as these guys get into their prime...

Francoeur has a career OPS+ of 92. Heyward's lowest OPS+ is 90. Frenchy's highest OBP was .338. Heyward has a career OBP of .348.

He's a bust compared to the hype he was given.

Can we at least wait till Heyward gets to age 29-30? I don't even know why you're doing this. Somehow I sense some man love for Heyward.

And I'm waiting for the day Heyward can be good back to back seasons. What about you?

Yeah Ox you fucking idiot.

I know right? The way Heyward is hitting this season, he might drop his career OPS+ near Francouer's. And it had to take a few years for Francouer to stink more than 4 years into his career. Heyward at least lets his OPS drop 140 points every year after his "Hank Aaron" years.

The fuck was I thinking?

One of these days I got to start humping the Atlanta farm system. One of these days. Today is not the day, tomorrow isnt looking good either.
Rank: 25

The best thing the Braves have going for them is their presence on the international market, because their drafts lately have been, to be kind, mediocre. They have drafted low-ceiling college pitchers who project as relievers (e.g. Alex Wood, Jason Hursh) in the last two years.

Even Lucas Sims, the team's first-round pick last year, looks more like a future closer than No. 3 starter. I did like their second- and third-round selections of Victor Caratini and Carlos Salazar, but the system has more players who project as big league specialists than everyday contributors.

You wouldn't even recognize Heyward if he interviewed you on the street.

Alright...

Reds need a sweep of the Pirates this weekend to change the tone of this underachieving season and to remind these upstarts of their place.

Plus, a 10 game west coast trip begins on Monday.

I'll be there Saturday.

If I'm not able to get back on this afternoon, have a good weekend everyone.
