well you vs wichita is one of the most efficient offensive teams in the country vs one of the most efficient defensive teams..................what wins? i'll take the team playing better comp............yeah nova draw is rough.........accourding to espn's percentage chances to win..........nova has a 17% chance, unc is high, suprisingly arizona has a 1% chance........some others are baffling too

Damn, Arizona has a nasty draw in the second round then in the elite 8 if Higher seeds advance. Not sure I’d have them real high. Nova’s got a cake walk according to espn and they all like Gonzaga vs Michigan in another region.

Pretty much every bubble team had better wins than USC. In fact I can't think of 1 that doesn't save MTSU

VCU says Hi.

Smaller school that got in and had an amazing run.
I get that, but since they expanded to 68 with the play in games, you can't really complain about not getting in. They have to cut it off somewhere. It is the National Championship. It's amazing how different the Playoffs are for NCAA football and basketball. In football, you argue who the 4th best team in the country is and why the 5th and/or 6th should be there instead. In basketball you are breaking the teams down just as much, but it is the 65th through 75th ranked teams to see if they deserve a spot.

Welp..

Let's start it..

Who got screwed?

@douggie
@DirtDirtDirt

anyone?

I don't believe anyone got screwed, as the committee has a difficult job as is to get the best teams into the tourney. That said, I know that having 10 teams from the ACC is just not happening and Notre Dame just wasn't going to work. Can they beat anybody? Sure, but they can get beaten by anybody too!

USC (23-11)--2nd in the Pac-12, runner-up in the Pac-12 tournament, RPI: 34; How does Arizona St and UCLA get in and they don't? Probably my biggest snub.

Middle Tennessee (24-7)--regular season conference champion, OOC schedule that included Murray St, Auburn, USC, Miami (all on the road), RPI: 33

Louisville (20-13)--SOS: 14, RPI: 38, 2-1 vs Florida St, 2-0 vs VA Tech (both in the Big Dance); slightly better resume than Syracuse (in tournament)

St Mary's (28-5)--RPI: 40; How are they ranked 20th in the AP if they're not tournament worthy? Wins over tourney teams Gonzaga, New Mexico St

Boise St (23-8)--RPI: 49, OOC road wins--Iowa St, Oregon; home win over Loyola-Chicago (I know Iowa St had a down season, but ISU is usually pretty good and bad ass at home)

Vermont (27-7)--RPI: 60, Worthy of recognition at the very least. Close road losses vs Kentucky, St Bonaventure, Marquette, Bucknell.

Oklahoma St (19-14)--RPI 90; SOS: 52; Key wins: Kansas (2), Oklahoma (2), Texas Tech, Texas, Florida St, West Virginia. Compared to Oklahoma OSU has the advantage, but their RPIs are very far apart.

The chair of the selection committee said Notre Dame (20-14) was the last team in until Davidson won. ND was the next in line? Are you kidding me?

Notre Dame deserves to be in over Syracuse. They basically have the same record and that's despite Colson missing most of the year. With him, they're a much better team. They also beat Cuse this year.

Nebraska. 22 wins, 13 wins in the B1G, 4th place finish in the conference, big win over Michigan and Minnesota, before Minnesota was hit with injuries.

I’m not sure I agree totally that they got snubbed. But they did finish second in the PAC. I think lack of big wins and their RPI is what killed them.

You like WVU to win two games huh? That’s more faith then I got. I think we get by Murray state but then lose to Wichita St. I hate that we are in Villanova’s region because they would just tear us up.

USC's RPI is 34. No power conference school with an RPI higher than 49 has ever been left out ever since the field expanded to 68. Meanwhile, Arizona State makes it even though they finished eight in the PAC 12 and had an embarrassing early round exit in the conference tournament.

I stand corrected. My apologies. That does suck.

Meh....you're splitting hairs when discussing SU and ND. In case you didn't notice, SU has been beat down by injuries so SU could say the same about their injuries. . Like others have said, the last 4 in don't deserve to be there.

I would guess the loss to Ball State was what flipped ND to below SU.

I was shocked to see SU was playing AZ st. I would hate to see em lose being gifted this one.

From what I saw on the selection show, I thought Baylor was "that" team that Davidson...or Rhode Island...kept out. But, I'm old and could be wrong.

NCAA's snubs are the NIT's gains....

NCAA snubs USC, Notre Dame among NIT field

Mid-major coaches: Deck stacked against us

It doesn't get all the fanfare or the hype like the NCAA tourney does, but for real basketball fans, the NIT is actually still a very good tournament that offers some interesting match ups and usually a bunch of awesome games every year while playing in the shadow of the bigger more popular dance.

HELL YEAH THE NIT BRACKET IS OUT

2018 NIT Bracket
What I like about the NIT is the games are played on college sites until the final four. For some reason I like college games played on college campuses. Guess I'm just old fashioned.
