And that is why Game 1 was a killer. It just kills you the rest of the series when you are a fragile team like we are.

All this bragging about veteran leadership when we were winning but where is that veteran leadership now that we are losing? Robbie, you out there? 2 for 13, 1 RBI, 1 Extra Base Hit all for $444,444 for the series.

I agree, and I think Cishek will be a good pen arm this year, but I don't think he should be the closer. The Mariners must upgrade that position, but whether that closer is already in the organization or not I don't know. Getting the injured arms back will help with the depth a lot too. But the bullpen is not in good shape right now. The Mariners lead MLB in blown saves and the bullpen has given up runs more often than not in recent games. It seems like they are really bad at stranding inherited runners too, but I don't know if that is actually true, it just feels that way. As long as the Mariners can keep winning some games and not go into a complete nosedive they will be ok, but they can't go on an extended losing streak. It won't be easy with the next series coming up in Baltimore.

I'll try and refrain from being overly negative. Not to say this series wasn't a huge disappointment because it absolutely was. LA did have some insane BABIP luck as well.

However its the first real bad series in a month and it happens. If they go 2-4 on this road trip then Ill start to turn my head. If this is just like every other year, Ill give them a chance to prove that.

This is why I was going to wait 50 games into the season before getting too excited about this club... We were bound to lose a series so not going to get too upset... We were in position to win the first two games of this series... We have a tough road set ahead of us, if we can be .500 plus on the road, it will be a big win imo...

When we get a healthier, deeper, bullpen, it will help imo in terms of holding leads...

Okay, on one hand, at least we didn't have a lead for our bullpen to blow today, but what is it about Felix pitching that has our batters decide not to even TRY on those days? If they were looking to quit on him, MISSION FUCKING ACCOMPLISHED. Only cost them the top spot in the division that they worked so hard to get (right???), and perhaps a good chunk of respectability from the fans.

May the new GM iron out this mess soon. We have been dealing with useless players for too long, and it's about time someone does something about it. NOW.
