And how do you freaking miss a base? Aoki almost gets picked off twice in one AB then misses a bag that cost them a run. Add the Blowpen making an appearance and visions on Mariners past are coming back in my head.

Lot of missed chances to score early in the game too. Rough loss on a game I think they should've won.

Absolutely, but just need 3 outs. I wonder what percentage of innings go scoreless in baseball for the year per game? I would assume 60% so why is it so freaking hard to get the final 3 outs? Leadoff walks will kill you every time.

This is a sucky loss but all teams have games like this. We will see if loss is a trend or a blip on the radar over time.

Literally five different things had to go wrong those last few innings and they did. There were some games the last few weeks that they pulled out that they probably shouldn't have.

And stick that freakin shift up their asses. Pujols ball in the 9th is a double play except there wasn't anyone playing 2B position. Then they had Smith literally playing on the warning track in the 8th with Trout up when he a routine pop up to RF that fell for 2 runs.

I get what you are saying but it also saved them the other day against Tampa. That Conger hit would have been a 2 run single instead of an inning ending ground out. Its give and take but should be more give over time. The 7th and 9th were just bad BABIP luck.

I would love to see the stat regarding the shift that takes on the runs saved as well as the runs given up by it. Everyone remembers the one hit that becomes an out because it is there to see, but what about all those outs of the bat that becomes hits once the ball rolls through the unguarded position in the infield? I tend to think they take the one play it works on and they puff out their chests but just ignore the obvious hits that should have been outs because the shift is the new cool thing. And shifts against us have worked the other way as well.

I still remember the Astro who with two strikes laid down the but for an RBI single because he knew he just needed to get it fair and there would be nobody there to throw him out. Obviously I am not a big shift fan or play on the warning track guy or play the line guy late when you don't do it for the other 8 innings.

Furbush threw 17 pitches in simulated inning, says he feels great. He'll throw another in Tacoma next week then go to AZ to continue rehab.

Joaquin Benoit also threw sim inning and said shoulder feels 100 percent and he's ready to come off DL. "It's up to the front office now."

In absolute hindsite, take out Iwakuma, but in LIVE time, Peralta, fuck.
Cannot fall 0-2 versus the inferior team.

I love what the manager has done, Service (Spelling), but not so much this series.
