Above average and having fantastic games wasn't good enough? I mean, many QBs have had HOF type performances.

But it wasn't just a handful of great games, he went to 4 Pro Bowls and that was a result of 4 great season, not games. They were the worst team in the league, he arrived and they won 11 games the next season. When he played they were a playoff team and went to the AFCCG, when he didn't they were the bottom of the league.

I agree. Not sure he has the longevity for the HOF.

I do not completely disagree with you.
I do believe that the Colts intentionally stank it up in order to draft Luck and at the same time never did not draft or invest enough tools/toys/protection/defense for Luck.

Or Manning.

Andrew Luck had the misfortune to have most of his career under Grigson and Pagano. I think he would have had a much better career if his HC was Bruce Arians during that period.

With all the injuries and rehabilitation, I hate to see Luck's injuries take the joy out of playing football. He finally realized that he'll never get any healthier with all the injuries he's suffered. He made the best decision anyone can make and that's to retire and finally get healthy.

God bless him and his life moving forward.

Colts ran that guy to the ground. Pulled one of the most blatant tank jobs of all time to get him, thought they could just throw Peyton Mannings play book at him, and everything would just keep rolling. He was a great ball control QB at Stanford and they should have built around him as such.

Sad thing is, this could be a new norm/precedent... Players are getting paid a lot of money now days... If they play into their 2nd contract, they will have made quite a bit of cash... especially if they're super stars... With that said, we could see more superstars retiring earlier...

Oh I agree he is not a HOFer, the same reason I would not put Kurt Warner in and I love Warner. Just saying he was on his way to being in the Hall of Fame and I'm shocked others disagree by claiming he was merely above average with only some good games. That would describe Matt Stafford.

That's nonsense, when he played he totally turned that team around. The records with and without him makes that perfectly clear.
