I am too hopeful for more picks but that's as far as it goes.

Maybe round 2 we'll see some action trading down or even early 3rd round but that depends on how their board is in order.

In order I would rank

Pitts, Chase, Slater, Smith, Waddle, Sewell

also would note that I'd love for Denver to move up from No. 9 to No. 7 and the Lions also receiving Denver's No. 71 (even if we had to give back our No. 112 to Denver - trying not to be greedy)

I like Horn and Surtain a lot too. Especially Horn.

agree they should both be included in top 10 and legitimately in line at No. 7. The media misses these two due to the Offensive players available. Both of these CB should be ranked higher than Parsons as their position is more premium and Parsons best trait as a LB is his ability to freelance blitz due to his speed. Parson isn't good at shedding blocks as he'll use his speed to go around or scrape by.

Horn arguably has the highest ceiling of any CB in this draft and yet he has P.I. waiting to happen written all over him. He cannot continue that process once in the NFL. Horn is the twitched-up, bigger, taller, more athletic version of Darqueze Dennard. Huge make-up speed to chase down WR that get past him.

Surtain is nearly former Bama CB, Marlon Humphrey v2.0 but with less make-up speed. Surtain esily outranks all CB's in this class with highest on-field IQ, footwork, hand placement, staying in-phase and eye recognition and no other CB is even within a country code but his struggles will come with those quick-twitch WR who get inside of him. He's easily the best in this class from the CB's at run support tackling and blitzes.

I don't see any point in taking a WR with the #7. It is one position that is relatively easy to find talent later in the draft. Take Sewell and be happy with a solid OLine for years to come.

Most interesting 1st round in years.

I never thought I'd advocate for offensive skill position in the first round, but DeVonta Smith is my pick. He's special.

That being said, there are a number of guys I'd be ok with either at 7 or after a trade-down. Should be fun.

Interesting to say the least but is it too far to drop down - not that there's evidence they've inquired with the Lions

2021 NFL Draft rumor: New Orleans Saints trying to trade into top 10 - Pride Of Detroit

The New Orleans Saints may be looking to throw an entire wrench into the top 10 of the 2021 NFL Draft. As first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and later corroborated by FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Saints—who currently hold the 28th pick—are reportedly exploring trades that would move them into the top 10.

“My understanding is the New Orleans Saints have been one of the, let’s say, loudest and most active teams calling other teams looking at potential big moves up the draft board, and they’ve even called about potentially getting in the top 10,” Rapoport said on NFL Network Thursday morning.

The other prevailing theory is for a cornerback.

“The only real need-need the Saints have right now is at left cornerback,” Rapoport said. “So could they be coming all the way up for a corner? Possibly.”

If Sewell is still on the board when it comes time for the Lions to draft at No. 7, I'd imagine he's the pick.

I wouldn't be upset with that 1 bit. It's not the sexy, shiny bauble toy many would hope for however, this team has so many needs it'd be hard to draft wrong at that point.

2021 NFL Draft rumor: New Orleans Saints trying to trade into top 10 - Pride Of Detroit

Obviously, there needs to be a discussion about the Detroit Lions here, because they’re a team that has several coaches from the Saints and may have a good working relationship with Sean Payton and company. They’re also a team that has reportedly been the hungriest team in the top 10 to trade down.

But would trading down to 28 be too much for Brad Holmes and company?

If you’re wondering what kind of haul it may take to make this trade, look no further than 10 years ago when the Atlanta Falcons went from Pick 26 to 6 by trading with the Cleveland Browns. Here’s what that trade looked like:

Falcons received:
  • Pick 6 (Julio Jones)
Browns received:
  • Pick 26
  • Pick 56 (Round 2)
  • Pick 124 (Round 4)
  • 2012 first-round pick (turned out to be 22)
  • 2012 fourth-round pick (118)
Would the Lions be willing to trade down to 28 if they got the Saints’ second (Pick 60), fourth (Pick 133), and next year’s first and fourth? That’s a significant haul, but you’d be passing on at least the first two tiers of talent in this year’s class.

^^^^^

Could possibly still have Z. Collins, WR Terrace Marshall, OT Cosmi, S Moehrig - maybe but doubtful.

There's lots of players would could fit in that area, imo, but I'd be hard pressed to swing that deal.

Not interested in a WR that weighs 165 pounds. He'll get killed at the next level.

28 is maybe a little lower than I would like, but the haul would be pretty amazing. And with no Brees the extra first might be in the teens next year.

maybe throw in FS Marcus Williams in that hypothetical trade and you'd have me saying, Hell Yes
even Cesar Ruiz would do. Put him at OG and he has experience at C while playing at U of M but M. Williams would break the bank for me.
