Not on 12 when the pin is on the right, you don't... not if you're smart. There are exceptions to this, but none that applied to Koepka, Molinari or Poulter at the time they drowned theirs ... like being down by several strokes on Sunday.
Yep (just ask Spieth about this one). A major is a major - it is not viewed as being invalid because someone played it safe or benefited by the mistakes of others (many majors have been won in this fashion). Course mgmt. is just as much a part of the game as driving, putting or approach shots. Just another case where everyone's ego needs to be checked at the first tee.
