I just heard that this is the best sporting event in all of 2019. Even better than the Patriots winning the last Super Bowl

Not sure if it was the best sporting event for 2019, but it certainly was better than this years SB which - unless you are a Pats fan - was one of the worst & most boring SBs ever.

I think it's deserved. How many non-golf fans were talking about Tiger yesterday? It was pretty remarkable to see as many people tune in for that 18th hole as they did. Pretty special moment that really did unit people into celebrating his comeback. I think it was nostalgic for a lot. Whether you watched him before, played his golf games or simply just remember growing up with Tiger everywhere, it was fun to watch it again.
It was absolutely sickening this morning with all the fawning and hyperbole over Baldy's performance was absurd; comical even. I knew it would be bad but all you could hear from ESPN and Golf Channell pundits was "gobble, gobble, glurp glurp" I was astonished; especially with Mike Greenberg who was giddy with joy and beside himself with Baldy's victory.

Me too. I can't watch the nonsense. Even on all the NBA games they've been gushing about Baldy; the Giants game as well. I thought Steph Curry was going to start crying this afternoon. I'll especially avoid the golf channel; a channel I watch every morning before work. Not this week though.
Today there is Tiger overkill as every network show is gushing over Woods.

Take the strongest man in the world and he can’t swing a golf club with the club head speed of the average tour pro. Now why is that?

because he has better things to do in life than play hit the ball with a stick???

If you hate someone and you create a thread about them AND they haven't won in 9 years....you are obsessed. Get a life.

He hasn't won in 9 years and had an significant injury that could have kept him for the game forever. It was expected. Not sure why this is a shock LOL

Had there been the social media and multitude of sports shows back in 1986, it would have been the exact same thing as when Nicklaus won at 46.

Tiger is the second best player of all-time, and he hasn't done shit in 11 years. It's a story bro...yer gonna hear about it. Turn off the TV if it annoys you so much.

Because he's not a fucking golfer?

No shit. It takes athleticism to create the physical exertion required to maneuver a golf club at the speed and precision required. There’s perhaps no other sport that requires training the tension and strength necessary from head to toe to hit a golf ball at the professional level.

Baseball is hit the ball with the stick. Hockey is slap the puck with the stick. Basketball is put the ball through the hoop. Football is move the ball across the line.

See, all sports are stupid.

It may not be a "sport", but it is one of the most difficult individual "games" that there is.

Yes, I am fine with that...

mainly I just like to egg "golfers" on with that comment. It triggers many of them more than a MAGA hat in Harlem

If Phil had won I doubt the media would be going bonkers.
