There is no way Butch Jones can return as the Vols head coach, with they continue to underachieve year in and year out. They are being taken to the wood shed and back by Georgia. I thought they had a chance to upset the Bulldogs. Boy was I wrong!:L

That was offensive.

How in the world can they wear those and think it's ok?

It's amazing what he can do when there are no expectations.

Their SOS hasn't been very tough.

OP makes a list of potential head coaches for a big time gig and doesn't list Chip Kelly :L

His biggest flaw wasn't his coaching, it was his hires......his OC/DC choices were ATROCIOUS and it ended up sinking his ship

I hate it when flunky trash go to college games. Go to a shitty NFL game and don't ruin our alumni mojo.
The Tebow years brought all those douchebags to Florida games and I hated it.

Props...if you could tell the difference between the normal one's and the bandwagon crowd.

Tennessee is in a position similar to ours - not enough in-state talent to sustain a top-level program. Have to hit Georgia and elsewhere hard. The rap on Chip is he doesn't enjoy recruiting, not sure he'd be a good fit.

Cutcliffe is the safe choice but they need to go big.

The problem is Tenn can't afford another bust and it's hard to strike magic gold.

In comparison if Auburn dumps Malzahn (which is debatable if that will happen) they've won a Natty in 2010, played in another in 2013 and just played in Sugar. They can risk a bust but Tenn has been mediocre to bad for 20 years with only two SEC Championship appearance in the last 20 years (both losses).

Missouri has appeared twice in the last 4 years.

It's bad in Knoxville.

If Tennessee was smart, they would hire Les Miles.

Say what you want about Les Miles, but 3 things:

1. He recruits well, and Tennessee as a program is somewhere he could recruit well at.
2. He might not be a spread genius, but he understands what it takes to win football games.
3. He brings a toughness/winning type of culture with him, that Tennessee badly needs. Their culture right now is shit. Life Champions, 5 star hearts, and even their coach saying a season with 4 losses wasn't disappointing after being picked to win the east.

But they won't, so that's good.
