He's a solid hire. Great recruiter. The cupboard isn't bare at Oregon and he will have us back whoopin' Uduh in no time.

You do understand that making an offer is not the same as signing him?
Or did I read that wrong?

OK, that's a fair point. But they have offered and he has accepted. We shall see if he signs. However, this may very well keep others from defecting and help for the rest of the recruiting season.

O for 2.
He did not accept the offer anywhere in the story.
All he did was acknowledge that he received an offer
He received
offers from a lot of schools. They listed 10 and said "and many more"..

Lemme put it another way.
I may offer to bang a supermodel.
Chances are she will not accept my offer.

It's pretty much exactly like that with Oregon's offer.

[long sigh] OK, I just reread the article and you're right. I guess my duck colored glasses need a tweak or two.

That's a pretty good analogy. But if you do get lucky, those are my socks under her bed.

Good answer :thumb:

I'll tell her to pick them up after she makes me a Sammie.

Thank gog.
For a minute there, I thought that link was taking you to a different story.
I actually opened it up a second time to make sure I hadn't totally missed him taking that offer.

I stopped reading after you said if he takes three seasons to get things going. No effin way he lasts if he has 3 bad years. Helfrich was fired for one bad season.

This is a win now program and win now opportunity. If he doesn't get this thing going right away then he is gone.

Man, y'all are gonna have to give him some time. It's a rebuild! As has been talked about, give him time to recruit and use his connections to states like Florida, bring in his own players and hopefully create a solid sustainable program.

Or get Duck Drunk and fire that mofo three games in, I'd probably be more likely to tune into that. :noidea:

I was wondering why they didn't at least talk to him. But some alumni I know tell me that UO didn't think he was ready for the job.
My take on Harsin, Oregon fires a coach people said was only successful because of the prior coaches players. Harsin was doing the same with Petersen's players. not to say he wont keep it up but lets see it first.
