The announcement of Sammy being on the first line for tonight's game is quite disappointing news to me. I have no idea what Babcock is thinking with that plan. Sammy has been as ineffecive as a single stall in the women's bathroom at the Joe. Has Mike gone braindead on us? That's the best choice he could have made? How disappointing that is to the potential effficiency of the top line of a team that is in a must win game. To quote Higgy: "pfft".

I also do not like the decision to put Sammy on the top line with Dats and Z. He has showed nothing so far all season... I'd rather have them put Bert on the top line than Sammy, even though the both have had about equal play time. I'd prolly go with Filp on top line for the speed and to try to get him started. Move Brunner in his place to the 2nd line.

The reason for putting Sammy on the line with Datsyuk is simple - when he inevitably coughs the puck up, Pavel can steal it back.

They are way way way worse than their record shows this year.

Check out some fancy/advanced stats if you care. They grossly overachieved the whole season.

If they get past the Wings (they really shouldn't have), they're toast the next round.
