Reading between the lines . What he really means is that other teams do not want to part with any of their top prospects. Amaro may have wanted to accept a deal that was on the table but the owners probably rejected it. This is a good thing for Philly fans. The owners will not allow him to be swindled. Also I heard that certain teams wanted some cash from the Phillies as if we were trying to unload Hamels. The plan is to now to wait until the All star trade deadline for teams needing help at that time. This is a big relief for Philly fans who fear Amaros baseball mind. There is also a longshot chance that the Phillies might have a winning record at the break and then decide to keep Hamels. I can dream. Can't I.
