Have we mentioned this? XFL taking a hit. Dick Ebersol was Vince's XFL partner, Charlie screwing over Vince.

he says this time its not gimmicky like the last round.I love it!
I think it may stand a decent chance to succeed too. As described so far, it doesn't seem to be very gimmicky like the XFL was. They have good NFL folks involved. Starting soon after the Superbowl is great for me. Cut down on the NBA coverage a little.
I like watching football allot. The XFL was shit and pretty much unwatchable.
Yep. The XFL had lots of stupid shit happening. McMahon tried to put too much WWE into it.he says this time its not gimmicky like the last round.
remember the "coin flips?"
2 guys at opposite 40's, facing the 50. ball on the 50. whistle blows, both guys run for the ball...first to it gets possession.
the first guy to do this broke his arm. 2 others did as well.
The XFL didn't fail because of lack of talent. The "experts" think it will fail because of the quality of play and players. It will do fine because there's the 'Fantasy Football' money and the Las Vegas money. How many people immediately turn to the NBA or the NHL after the Super Bowl?? If they play on Sunday afternoon only and keep the league to 8 teams it should be interesting. Four games a week for 12 weeks takes us into May. Get a month and a half off and the NFL starts to kick into gear. This will be a perfect opportunity for guys who would never get a chance in the NFL to really show their stuff and possibly make an NFL team and earn a living.

Not really in this case. They are using more prominent people. Bill Polian is involved as well as others.not sure having former football players in the executive positions bodes well for the league .... that's like giving a warehouse worker the job of vice president of marketing from one day to the next.
No kickoffs is OK. Not sure anyone watches for the kickoffs. No kick-offs.
2 point converts only.
No on side kicks, 4th and 10 from the 35 or something instead.
I think if I had to I'd just watch CFL instead.

Nothing wrong with 2 point conversions either.
The choice to go for 4th and 10 from the 35 is interesting as a substitute for an onside kick. I would make it 4th and 15 myself.
All these make a kicker not needed. Nothing wrong with that. While I don't want to see it this way in the NFL, I'm OK with it in an alternate league. Much better than the shit they tried to do in the XFL.
I gave the XFL a shot. It didn't take long to disappoint. If the CFL was televised and covered more, I think I would watch it. I really like watching football. The LFL is actually pretty decent football. I was surprised to find that the players are not paid in the LFL.I'm still likely going to pass. I didn't watch the XFL at all. I'm not big on pretenders.

Sounds similar to Greg Schiano's proposal. After scoring a team faces fourth and 15 from their own 30. You either punt or go for it. Still a kick return, but not a true kick off.
