Palmeiro's a rich man's McGriff IMO. Palmeiro was a productive player for almost two decades, but he still only had a handful of seasons where you could really call him one of the best players in the AL. Only 5 top ten WAR finishes, only one seasons where he was top five (4th in 1993). Six seasons where he was top 10 in OPS+ and only finished in the top 5 twice (5th in 1991, 2nd in 1999). Just don't think there's a strong enough peak, but I guess you could make a case for him given his longevity. Meh.
