All Star Weekend Thread

If some one could make this thread a sticky for the weekend - it would be appreciated.

My first thought is the numerous injuries - Davis, Wall and now Wade won't be playing. I can't help but be skeptical and ask if some of these players are milking it to preserve themselves for the regular season.

The injury rate also seems extremely high this year - Is this just me?

I would love it if they ever added some sort of a one on one competition/tournament between players

It doesn't even have to be the best of the best going at it (Lebron, KD, Steph, etc.). I wouldn't mind seeing Gerald Green vs Rudi Gay or Lawson vs Wall.

Adding this would generate so much interest from fans to watch the all star weekend. I can't speak for others, but I hardly make the nba all star weekends a priority anymore. If it's on and I'm at home or happen to be out at a restaurant or bar with it on then I'll watch. But it wasn't like before when you used to make plans to watch Vince in the dunk contest.

All these guys like him will probably get their maximum allotment just because it won't be as big a chunk of cash once the cap goes up in 2016. So for his experience level, that max is like 15 mil.

I'll be shocked if Melo sits. There were rumblings the Knicks wanted to shut him down over a month ago and the only reason he kept playing was so he would be eligible to play in the ASG. I fully expect him to play and get shut down like 5 seconds after the game is over

They probably wanted more front court people out there. I was fine with either Dirk or Z-Bo. People need to chill with this DeAndre Jordan snub shit though. It's like Z-Bo doesn't even exist anymore yet Memphis is what, the 3rd best team in the entire league?

The game, and all the ridiculous events associated with it, are an embarrassment to professional sports.
