Let's hope he at least made an attempt to call Anton, or his agent. Unlike Chara, Commodore, etc.

As for the vital piece for the future... The way I see it, if they don't have it in three years' time, they might have to blow it up and rebuild.

3 years from now, there will be no Alfie, no Kovy, Probably no Phillips or Kuba. Fisher may have moved to Nashville to be with his woman, Neil won't have anything left and Michalek will probably garner a lot of interest out there.

The cupboard is pretty bare. They were good enough for long enough to really have not much in the system. Zach Smith and Jesse Winchester? That's what we're looking forward to?

Sign A - train at 4.5/5 for 3 years. That's probably all you'll get out of him anyway. Add a puck mover in place of meat-head Carkner.

Where the Sens NEED to spend money is on Physical therapists. :)

On defense the future looks pretty bright.

Karlsson for sure plus Cowen and Wiercioch look like they'll be pretty good.

On forward it looks pretty bleak though. You're right about that. Other then Regin are there any other young forwards that are going to be offensive leaders? No. Foligno is good but he's not a first liner. Michalek is good too but you have to worry with all the knee surgeries he's had.

In 3 years time Spezza will be the only legitimate offensive threat and he is a good player but he's not good enough to do it on his own. There are a couple prospects that may make splash. Somebody like Andre Petersson comes to mind but he's the only forward prospect in the system with 30 or 40 goal potential.
