Yeah two goals and he hit a guy so hard it broke the glass/partition. Signs of things to come.

Fun Fact: Ovechkin has more career goals as a Cap than the Blue Jackets top 4 career goal scorers (Nash, Atkinson, Jenner, Foligno) combined.


I wonder how many teams he exceeds the goal scoring of the top 2 players combined. I'd guess at least half the teams, maybe most.

I just checked the Flames, when he scores #890, he will have more goals scored than Iggy (525) and Theo (364). Iggy and Theo both went on to score more goals with other teams, but their combined total with the Flames is 889.

I did the original 6 out of curiosity and amazingly he is better than two:

Mapleleafs: 809
Rangers: 742

I just checked the Flames, when he scores #890, he will have more goals scored than Iggy (525) and Theo (364). Iggy and Theo both went on to score more goals with other teams, but their combined total with the Flames is 889.

So far he's right in the middle with a few he'll certainly pass in the next year. Have to check the rest tomorrow...
