So Draisaitl is currently at 389 goals and I think 600 is a certainty and he could get to 700 goals which is crazy good. That could still be 200 goals shy of OV's total once the Great 8 hangs up the skates.

Was looking at the same thing with Austin Matthews. His current pace is he would be past 900 goals with the same amount of games played as Ovechkin. Granted we know as he ages his pace will drop but he somehow puts up a few more 50/60 goal seasons, I see him near the top in 800 more games (if he plays that long).

Well here is your list. If you exclude his own team, there are 13 teams whose top two scorers exceed Ovechkin's total.

That leaves a whopping 18 teams where Ovechkin has more goals than the top two goal scorers in the history of that squad. That total will surely reach 20 after the Flames and Sabres are passed. And the Stars/Lightning are in range depending on career length.

Additional record watch...

After the Edmonton game, Ovechkin sits tied with Jagr for most game-winning goals at 135. His next GWG would be the new record.

Only 9 players in the club of 100 GWG or more including OV, Jagr, Howe, Esposito, Brett Hull, Selanne, Shanahan, Marleau, and Iginla.

Hey, Mark Sheifele just took over the franchise scoring lead from Kovalchuk.

To this day that hit pisses me off and the look on his face was pathetic.
