Its being reported that Baldwin is also the producer for this show.

That makes things a lot more complicated for Baldwin as he could have been in charge of the entire production ..added to the fact that
he was the shooter.

Probably this was a close shot where the gun is pointed at the camera, since both the DP and the director were hit. The wadding itself could kill you, even if it's a half-load or quarter-load blank.

It's tough to get realism if you want a shot like that. The gun has to kick. If my guess is right, they could/should have set up a remote camera. But that takes a lot more time to get right, and time is extremely valuable on a film set.

So....he was given a loaded gun???

That seems like kind of fourth-hand information. Unusual to have a live round on set at all.

One live round killing one and injuring another... possible, I guess. (Insert JFK reference here.)

They never learned from the Brandon Lee incident.

Massee fired the improperly prepared prop gun that killed Lee on the set of “The Crow” in 1993. Lee, the son of martial arts star Bruce Lee, died in surgery on March 31, 1993. He was 28. “The Crow,” directed by Alex Proyas, was released in May of 1994. Massee, who reportedly never watched “The Crow,” returned to New York following the traumatic accident and took time off from acting. “I don’t think you ever get over something like that,” he said in a 2005 interview.
that was sad as hell.........

He won’t. You don’t just get to kill someone and say “oops”.
I agree, and you'd hope common sense would say, hey you fired a gun and killed someone...........

but this morning many actually sounded like, "oh well, time to move on. Alec, where are we drinking beer at tonight?".......

With a half or full load blank, there is a chance you could get metal a fragment for the shell casing to fire out of the gun.

But to kill one person and wound another ...that sounds like what only a real bullet could do.

Jon-Erik Hexum, a minor actor, accidentally killed himself playing with a gun loaded with a blank cartridge on a filming set. He was actually playing Russian Roulette with the gun, which he assumed was harmless because it only held "a blank."

Hollywood has officially lost all credibility (as if it had any to begin with) regarding guns.

You fuckers couldn't even follow basic gun safety protocol with a prop, and you want to tell other people why they shouldn't have guns?

So Alex Baldwin shoots this guys wife and now he has to tell the world that he is in touch with him?

That is a pure PR move and pretty distasteful.

I never liked the guy, he gives you reasons.

why? what did he have control over? he was handed a prop gun, assumed it was properly set up and followed the directions of the director in how it was handled. it was a regrettable accident
