The Rangers clinched on Sept. 23; in their 25 games previous to that they were 16-9. How is playing .640 ball considered "struggling" lol?

They weren't playing hero ball and looked unmotivated all series and up until the series. Sometimes it is a bad thing clinching your division to early, that seems to be the case here.

Four whole games?! In August?!

Who gives a shit?

Indians pitchers just shut down a much better offense than the Blue Jays. That was this week. How does that bode for the blow jobs?

Texas scored eight more runs than they allowed over the entire season. Their team ERA was the third worst in the AL. A case could be made that they were the third best team in the AL West.

The Blue Jays offense jumped on a team with shitty pitching. Be happy and congratulations. Don't fool yourself into thinking it was some amazing feat.
End of August.

Cole Hamels and Yu Darvish are shitty pitchers now?

How can you not like the Tribe in game 1 though? Marco Estrada vs. Corey Kluber in Cleveland? lets just focus on game 1 and hope the Tribe takes care of business at home.

things you did not expect to see in the spring;

Marco Estrada pitching game 1 of the ALCS.

Suuuuuure. Best BP pitcher in the league. He doesnt have letdowns. He actually had one against Boston when he gave up that double off the wall lol
yah i actually think Miller was slightly off his game vs. Boston....his control was notq uite where it should be.....God help the Blue Jays if Miller is hitting on all cylinders- which i dont think he was AT ALL in the Boston series.

You can make the same argument about the Jays last year but they came around. Looked like Texas was doing the same in game 3 but the Jays managed to hold on long enough to sneak home the winner.

There was a lot mental in that series as well.

i am going to predict hte Blue Jays starting pitching lets them down and the indians win the series in 6 games.

Sanchez and Stroman are in uncharted territory innings wise and that catches up to you after a while. JA Happ and Marco Estrada have pitched well this year- but do not exactly incite terror in the minds of the opposing hitters.

Corey Kluber is the best starting pitcher in this series. Andrew Miller is the best overall pitcher in this series. The Tribe has the better manager, the better defense, the better team on the basepaths.

Toronto only wins this series if they continue hitting bunches of home runs. I dont see there path otherwise. That is a really good way to win as long as you are hitting homers. Its possible they keep it up and just bludgeon the Tribe- but i dont see it.

Tribe in 6.

He started game 1 of the ALCS last season too so, yeah, tired narratives and whatnot.

They need Kluber to go deep so that Francona can try to stretch those relievers in games 2 and 3/4.

Jays rocked Kluber once this year and managed to get runs off him the second time. If that's the only advantage Cleveland has starter-wise, I'm a happy Jays fan.

Miller's scary but if the Jays bats get to the Indians starters it's obviously not as big a concern. Jays need the bats working early though.

Kluber was really hungover for both of those games though. He'll be sober for this series. Advantage: Jim Harbaugh! Dammit, my bad. Ignore that Jimmy Jam comment. Thought I was in a CFB forum for a moment.

Yeah facing CLE right now is a lot like facing the royals the last 2 years, except with a ridiculously better manager.

He had a stretch in the season where he wasn't playing too good, probably when he played the Canadians.

If Toronto will be selling full cans of beer during the series @ home games Cleveland should be allowed to have another 10 cent beer night in their backyard. Us NE Ohioans would drink 'em under the table & kick their asses in the same evening!

I went to Cleveland. Once. Was hung over Sunday morning after my cousin's wedding in Buffalo and said to myself "hey, the Jays are playing in Cleveland today. Only a couple hours to drive, sounds like a plan."

Longest 4 hour, hungover, sick as a dog, drive of my life. And then I SAW Cleveland.

This was way back in 1990 and the Indians still played at the Muni. Scary place. Easy to get tickets though. Walked up an hour before game time and sat behind third base.

Sat down and had the best 3 hours I ever spent at a ballpark

Only no-no I have ever seen in person.

You might be able to beat some inland Canadians from Toronto in a drinking contest - I'll grant you that - but you'd have your hands full taking on a group of coastal Canadians (especially from BC) in some kind of drinking shenanigans, ya hoser.
