That first half is entirely on Major Applewhite


Texas played great defense and ran the ball with power authority almost unstoppable.


But Applewhite decided to keep throwing the ball at strange times for no reason.

Well, too many mistakes for Texas to survive this one. They'll have to play perfectly in the second half and hope the Ducks make mistakes, or this one's cooked and served up.

5/12 for 31 yards and a pick that turned into 6 for Oregon.

Not tough to read too much into this game. Texas can run the football, and be physical, but their QB situation is beyond a train wreck.

Malcolm Brown has 113 yards rushing, and Texas only has 7 points.

Only so much time that the defense can stand up to the Oregon pressure without giving up more points. And in bunches.

Unless Case McCoy turns into Vince Young at halftime, this doesn't look good at all for Texas.

Like I said, the main problem with Major is Case McCoy is his QB. He just cannot realize the guys limitations and refuses to game plan accordingly. Or at least give Swoopes a shot and go straight run it every down. Swoopes is at least a big powerful runner to complement our running backs.

The running game is mauling Oregon (when they actually call run plays)


But, the quarterback play is so god awful bad that they cannot overcome it.


How much worse could the freshman be in the 2nd half than McCoy?

Which is why I called for Major to be fired when Mack fired Diaz. Major is one of the worst OC's ever.
