What's going to happen when they actually start playing well? There defense hasn't been great. Gardner, Sanchez and Stanton aren't really hitting yet, Sanchez has been bad behind the plate, they got 2 guys nailed at the plate in dumb moves last night, and Tanaka and Gray have been shaky.

I love Sanchez, but he's been atrocious this year. He seemed to be making real strides during the latter part of last year, but this year the "ole" glove work is back. Chapman looked like he wanted to punch him the other day when he let the tying run score.

Yeah, Chapman looked really pissed. But, they showed a stat last night that Sanchez dealt with more pitches in the dirt than any other catcher last year and it wasn't even close. Also, last year he made a trip to the mound every other batter and I think the limit on trips is causing some cross ups.

Yeah, I keep hoping that Sanchez will improve but it's going to take time. Johnny Bench led the league in wild pitches and passed balls his first 2 years and became an awesome defensive player. For Sanchez I'll take average with his bat and arm

And like Bench, the one thing he has is a cannon for a throwing arm. He becomes 1/4 of the defensive catcher Bench was, I'll be a happy guy. It starts with giving up the body on balls in the dirt. No more of this one-handed BS.

The 5th inning whiff by Sanchez on the Nunez K destroyed his entire outing

No Doubt about it, dont know how long they can continue to carry 2 automatic outs with JBJ and that catcher position, but I hope its a long time

I'm not that familiar with their bench outside the starters. What alternatives did they have last night? Was Moreland available?

Porcello needs to get hit hard tonight, his ERA and WHIP are too damn good.

Tanaka better pitch to contact and let the defense do it's job, too many patient hitters in the Sox lineup to not throw strikes.

He's played a pretty big role in the last few game winning rallies. Took him a little while, but he's coming around.

I definitely feel better with him at the plate over Austin.
