First half was largely a mirage.

This team just ain't that good.

:noidea:
Reminds me of the Mets last year. In the first half they got every clutch hit and the starters all pitched over their heads. They didn't do as well but they came crashing back to Earth and so has this team. Without King and Holmes dominating they aren't winning the close ones. 16 one run loses in the last 2 or so months.

I've also never seen a team (good or bad) get no hit so deep into games so frequently.

Seems like it's happened at least 10 times this season.

They've been 1 hit at least twice and no hit. It's like everyone not named Judge falls asleep. Why anyone throws a strike to Judge is beyond me. D.J. looks hurt again and has lost 20 point off his batting average in a couple of weeks. Rizzo gets a hold of one every now and then but his back is giving him an issue and he's hitting 215. Donaldson is a disaster, Torres hasn't been good and makes too many mental errors. If they manage to hold onto first place I'll be surprised. 33 games left and 6 in the loss column up. At least Holmes looked good last night.

As I said back in early July, this lineup has so many flaws and sits around waiting for a home run to score…..it has more holes in it than Paul Castellano…..

And when one or more of the big guys is out, it's basically about as challenging a lineup as the A's or Tigers are throwing out there

Twins have officially won the season series against 4 of the 5 vaunted AL East teams.

Of course, it goes without saying the Yanks are the outlier.....unless we take 3 of 4 next week!!! Sounds super plausible.

OK 22.5M + 29M Luxury Tax for Mookie

I don't think they would have signed Story if they had extended Mookie. They also probably wouldn't have traded for JBJ. That's ~$35M in luxury tax salary there.
