2004 was absolutely horrific, but actually losing in the WS was just as brutal, if not worse....Losing to the Dodgers in 81' and the D-Backs in 2001 were beyond painful.....Losing to the D-Backs in the bottom of the 9th with Mariano on the mound is still haunting today.....That bloop single by Roidzalez still makes me sick.....Can't watch that replay....

Infield should have been at DP depth

grrrr

Those Indians teams of the 90’s were LOADED. But Lofton, Baerga & Belle were gone by 97. When they were running that core out there with Manny and Thome, that was probably the best lineup I can ever remember. Amazing they never won it all.

Last team to score 1000 runs if I'm not mistaken

So freaking close to 4 in a row and 5 out of 6. I hear you.

As awesome as Mo was for them, he pretty much blew that one single-handedly.

And Alfonso Soriano went from hitting a HR that would be remembered for years to an afterthought in 1 half-inning

I could go either way. Mo didn't give up hard contact, so I can see why they had the infield in with the winning run on 3rd 1 out. Backfired like a motherfucker, but a broken bat grounder with the infield at DP depth would've scored the winner as well.

Damned if you do.............

I’m not sure how long it lasted, but I remember that lineup had Thome batting sixth and Manny batting SEVENTH for a while.

They were also so loaded that they developed good players like Brian Giles, Sean Casey and Jeromy Burnitz along the way and basically had no place to play them.

Yanks just announced 20% capacity to start the season

It’ll be 40% when the next girl comes out against Cuomo

the last thing he wants to do is upset voters, especially business owners right now

Good point, I just clearly remember what my mindset was before the Gonzalez bloop, and I was thinking DP depth

I think he's toast either way, but he's going to attempt to pull a Ralph Northam. We'll see how that works out for him.

Reading you're going to have to provide a negative test or proof of vaccination to get in. That's some bullshit right there.

Considering by opening day, the vaccination age won’t be below 50 in NYC, that’s gonna exclude a lotta fans

Maybe all the folks who don't have their papers will have to go to Stans!

We will get the young Fordham sororities at least

I’m too old for them now, but still fun to have around
