if they dont love a QB, and dont want Barkley, I hope they trade it

I know this Chubb guy is gonna be very good, but I want no part of him as the 2nd overall

You trade a pretty good DE and replace him with a younger possibly very good DE

How much better a team have you become?

Right. And what I heard was that Buffalo was so desperate to jump the Jets they offered both of their #1s and a #2.

That might be just what they need right now.

When he was awful last year, the drink of choice was gin & Tanaka.....You could chug those for the 4 innings he pitched, pass out and forget he was ever on the mound.....He was throwing BP early last season and then he totally redeems himself like Lloyd Christmas trading for that moped....

For the record, I still want Barkley and Beckham in an offense together

But yeah, Id pile up picks if not

Think Barkley goes 1 to the Browns. Hard to know what the Giants do. They desperately need a QB but I doubt they do it.

Brian Johnson looked good too, and that was against most of the Yanks starters. It looked like a lineup you'd expect from the Yankees in the season though I can't imagine Judge will be batting #1. still... it's ST.

I expect Tanaka to have a better year than 2017. His horrid May really bogged his overall ERA down and he had a 3.77 ERA in the 2nd half along with a 3.94 ERA in June. His xFIP was 1.30 runs below his ERA for the season as well and he posted his best strikeout rate in the majors. He'll be fine IMO, I don't see him having a 21.2% HR/FB rate again.

Greg Bird will undergo a CT scan and an MRI on his injured foot on Saturday.

Bird has already undergone initial testing, but required additional evaluation. Look for an update on his status later in the afternoon, but it's starting to sound worrisome for fantasy owners.:suds:

LOL I thought about drafting him in MBBRL as well.

Dude is so freaking injury prone.

The Yankees have a potent lineup but need another bat in the infield. That said I can see them winning at least 90 games this yr.

That is starting to look like a very apt comparison. All the talent in the world, but just can't stay on the damn field.

Johnson was better IMO. He could have been a special hitter. He had 123 walks (!) in 132 games in AA as a 20-year old in 1999. He hit .345/.525/.548. That eye translated to the majors, putting up a .399 OBP on a .268 BA. He hit .290/.428/.520 with a 149 OPS+ in one of his few healthy seasons.

Worth noting that was Johnson's age 27 season.

Bird is still only 25.

But again, if like Johnson, he can't stay on the field, it all amounts to the same thing. Wasted potential.

Didn't help that Johnson missed 2000 (wrist injury?). That'll stunt your development.

Yeah, if it wasn't the wrist, it was the back, if it wasn't the back, it was the oblique. Was always something.

I had actually forgotten that Johnson had made it all the way to #5 in the prospect rankings. Bird was never ranked, to the best of my memory.
