Baseball 101, hr hitters like mob to drive in runs! How many times alone in the playoffs did judge lead off an inning? ESP. With tardy gardy , the automatic out in the #1 slot. Those guys are 3 4 5. Hitters!

Lundy carried no one, back then the dmen Blocked 75% of shots taken ... his rep of letting easy ones get buy. ESP under 2 minutes left in a period means he loses focus. The other nite on that 5 on 3 he was spectacular only to let one get by with a second left on the clock! Whether his fault or not That’s been his MO
2 is a more important spot in the lineup than 3.

Gardner was something like 3rd or 4th in the AL in pitches seen per plate appearance. I like him leading off just fine.

As far as Lundqvist goes, I think you're being a little revisionist. He stood on his head repeatedly in that run to the finals. I won't deny that he had a bad final, but they wouldn't have sniffed it without him.

Gardner's one of the top leadoff hitters in the game, also one of the top stolen base guys in baseball.

Yup, Gardner is an absolute pest, fouling balls off and making pitchers work....he gets 4 AB's and you can pencil in 17-20 pitches a game....That doesn't add up during a game....

i know you guys are joshin me, cause gardner could be one of the most "raw" dumazz players in game. i say raw yea even after what 5+ years in, cause what he was blessed with he hasn't a clue how to use!

as far as lundy goes, i have posted many times he played a great game, but he is NO elite ! his handling of the puck is atrocious , he gives up way too many goals at crucial times of games, you see him now playing with ahl'ers, yea i get it! but, you are still supposed to shine, CONSISTENTLY, esp when franchise gives him the big bucks!

Ellsbury? You have got to be kidding me.

Are you an embedded Red Sox fan?

no sir, lets be clear, i am a fan of the game, played it very well..... and if you think gardner is an overall better player than ellsbury you clearly go by what somebody else thinks and you don't know all about game!

Ellsbury can't even stay on the field, how would we know if he could be better? Guy pulls a muscle tying his shoes. Cashman has done a lot of really good things these last few years, but he himself would tell you that signing Ellsbury was his biggest blunder.

Seriously, please tell me one, just one thing, Ellsbury brings to the party that Gardner doesn't?

there was no reason for the yankees to have both ellsbury & gardner on roster same time, one of them was going to be ruined as a player by reetardee!

and wow, thats how you saux fans treat a former player who helped you win a ring? nice, lol...

gardner , 34 years old and still doesn't know how to steal a base!

the one thing ellsbury brings to the table is BRAINS, gardner, has lots a talent but none!

mistake after mistake, so instead of spending all that money on a stud pitcher, chad green may become a starter? lol.

He's not becoming a starter. Boone pretty much said he will be in the pen to start the season.

Rotation is fine once we get 2nd half Tanaka instead of 1st half. Sevy is our ACE and Tanaka/Gray are #2 material while CC and Montgomery are back end of the rotation guys.

I have no issues with our starters considering what we have in the pen. Now if we had a crappy pen then I'll be much more concerned about out rotation

why would you even be concerned with the Yankees rotation? It should be among the best in the AL.
